Right now there's been mention of CDW being considered for DC at Cal...is there anything official yet?

Current New Mexico State head coach DeWayne Walker sounds like he might be the right guy for Dykes to go after to fill the defensive coordinator position.

Walker made some interesting remarks after his Aggies finished the season 1-11. The Chicago Tribune highlighted what appears to be mounting frustration at New Mexico State. 

"'I got a lot of thinking to do,' Walker told the Las Cruces Sun-News. 'A lot of stuff to think about. The coaches get on the road to recruit Tuesday. You don't want to go out like this.'"

The Tribune noted that New Mexico State's future may be throttled by the fluid conference realignment and expansions taking place nationwide.

"The Aggies' blowout loss to Texas State in the first week of December marked the last game in the illustrious history of the WAC. Without a conference, NMSU is forced to play next year as an independent, a plan that can only work in the short term for the cash-strapped Aggie athletics department."

So a lot of speculation and heresay. I can imagine the smoke means the offer may be out there but I was wondering if there was anything definitive about him accepting another job.  I've got mixed feelings on this...

First three years showed progress (especially last year) and then this year blew up after the first half at Ohio.  Lack of game adjustments and personnel upsets me. Sure would be a happy Aggie if Doug Martin could come back.

Good summary. I think this year sucked as much as the next guy, but we have some decent pieces in place. I think we figure out the OC spot and maybe one or two more position coaches, and give CDW one more year and some adequate funding things will be much better. I think we get a few more o- line and d-line men, and we have may find this year was fluke and not the norm.

Heard that CDW told the Team Sunday that he was going on a "vacation" for a week to think things over. Perhaps it is just that but perhaps it is a "working vacation" on the West Coast as there are DC openings at Cal & USC

You're right. I am just as guilty of calling out Dumb and Dumber as they are for their incessant and miguided knocking of Dr. Boston. Childish, isn't it?

The mess at NMSU is way beyond one person's fault, or beyond the ability of one person to correct this mess, as eleqouently put by El Vez.   Some of you, like you Rojo, understand the true issues.  Others have a passing knowledge. And then there are those "pontifactors" who think they know, but they don't.  They don't have a clue.  They really don't.  And that's what irks me. 

I am NOT a fan of Dr. McKinley Boston, believe me.  But, to call him out for every woe at NMSU is absurd.

Maybe I should "Ignore" Dumb and Dumber as well, but I feel compelled to take them to task for their ignorance.

Well, I wouldn't say childish.  I just think you guys just let your opinions on NMSU get too personal, thats all.  All this stuff does is remind me of the Red Menace, and nobody wants that.

for Aggietude and Rojo and others who feel that always hating on the head guys is no good and obsessive well that is just part of the business. When things are not absolutely perfect all the time it is natural for people to repeatedly obsess over the head guys.

Like reading frequent traveler message boards the United frequent flyers continually obsess over the service, merger, and management especially the CEO.

Just the nature of the beast to always be upset with the people in charge.

Very glad you did, notice I have NEVER called any aggie poster "dumb and dumber" on this board. Cheap shots? LOL. btw... it really wouldn't take much for Boston to gain respect from me by being more engaging with the public and honest when being interviewed  even a simple "no comment" would be appreciated. He comes off as arrogant, I didn't create that perception he did.
