BN, sorry for the delayed reply, but my father's best friend..

from childhood and through both their lives was a NYC Detective who said whenever they came across a blood-spattered bedroom, their first thought ALWAYS was that the victim was likely homosexual, and that evidence usuallyproved them right. Their next assumption was that it was a wife or girlfriend. Common criminals don't stab their victims thirty times or more.

Well, at least the last two sentences make sense.

Expect that this adventure is going to be difficult.
It is going to be hard.
And expect to win.

This is so dumb. In 20 years people will look back at the gay marriage "debate" and DADT and wonder how so many people could be so close minded. The exact same types of arguments were used to keep black people from marrying white people and from serving alongside white people.
And lest you think I'm making that up, I'd invite you to google some of this and you'll find that there was no shortage of "scientists" and "distinguished policy experts" arguing that blacks and whites living alongside one another would result in social chaos. They also argued things about how blacks couldn't see well enough in the dark lacked the aptitude for certain types of jobs. All junk science, and all very similar to the same type of pseudo-scientific arguments we see levied at gays today.

The thing is that my generations is tolerant, the generation after mine is even more tolerant, and subsequent generations will continue to be more tolerant even still. You are on the wrong side of history. That isn't hyperbole, it's simple math.

And one more thing. Plain: did you seriously try and assert that Brooklyn has less homosexuals than Manhatten? Have you been to Williamsburg? Do you realize that Brooklyn is now the center for all the hipsters, which include openminded straight people and gay people?  That shows me that you're not only stuck in the past, but you haven't left your building in 40 years. Try going outside. You may like it.
