Lehigh tops Bucknell 65-62
The good news is that Bucknell is not as invincible as they looked earlier. The bad news is that now we have two Goliaths to worry about in the Patriot League. Looks like it will be Bucknell, Lehigh, and then everybody else as an afterthought this season.

Re: Lehigh tops Bucknell 65-62
Lehigh is a goliath. CJ McCollum is a possible NBA lottery draft pick and they defeated Duke in the first round to the tourney last year and fell just short of the sweet 16. Bucknell is very talented as well. Lehigh got all the attention in the post season last year, but Bucknell went on the road in the NIT and knocked off Arizona.

I guess it's a matter of semantics. Duke is a Goliath, UCLA was
once. To me Lehigh and Bucknell are at best, respectable, mid-major teams, certainly nothing more. In football it's unimaginable that a time will ever come when anyone would consider them comparative Goliaths. No reason we shouldn't be at least competitive with them in bball.

In football it's unimaginable that a time will ever come when anyone would consider them comparative Goliaths. Both are clearly much more than "respectable" mid-majors. In the current mid-major polls, Bucknell is ranked 3rd in the country and Lehigh is also in the top ten. Agree that they're not goliaths if compared to the top basketball factories but they are a lot more than you seem to recognize. Looking at Sagarin, Bucknell and Lehigh are the football equivalents of teams like West Virginia, Miami (FL), or Tulsa. Or if you adjust for the fact that there are a lot more D1 basketball teams, then they are the football equivalent of TCU, Southern Cal, Michigan State, or Penn State.

plain, re-read the first post in thread, paying particular attention to 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th words after "Goliaths"
Expect that this adventure is going to be difficult. It is going to be hard. And expect to win.
