Navy in Kraft Fight Hunger bowl at 4PM today. Will Kraft fight..
hunger by providing free lunches including Kraft swiss cheese? I know there is no such thing as a free lunch and besides people who can afford bowl tickets aren't hungry. Cheap shot because though an avid capitalist I hate the product-naming of bowl games. Tonight there's the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Yikes! Only holdout against corporate name preceding the bowl name is the Rose Bowl, which has only a suffix, ''presented by.....'' Though Rabble rails against alleged NY Yankee greed, they may have built the last new stadium without a naming rights auction. Plain old, good old Yankee Stadium as opposed to crosstown NYMets' Citifield.

Another recent example is Texas Stadium, aka "Jerry's World."
Beat 'em!

Mids are getting their doors blown off by ASU, but Reynolds is going to be really good as he matures and gets more time in that offense. I'm not looking forward to playing him the next 3 years...

This was the year to beat Navy, though I doubt Middies will...
be as good as they were under PJ for the forseeable future. We'll miss Trent, but if Schurr plays to his potential we'll be competitive next year even with RE returning. Beyond that there'll be a problem since Navy's AD has committed to improving the program significantly whether they join the Big East or not while no such commitment obtains for Army.

I'm suprised at the margin of victory (I think we can throw out Navy's last two TDs in the garbage time -from the waning moments of the 3rd quarter on). ASU was supposed to have a weak run defense (Lou Holtz) granted, against the PAC-10. I expected a shoot-out with ASU coming out on top. Instead, just total domination in every aspect (except kick-offs) of the game. I know Sutton is good but when you can manhandle two Navy players and make the sack! Is he that good or is Navy's pass protection that bad? Probably some of both.

Will Sutton is perhaps the best defensive tackle in the country! The guy is LEGIT! quark7 wrote: KickinMule wrote: This is getting very ugly very quickly. He's going to play in the NFL so I would put him in the that good department. Arizona state's defensive line is one of the best in the nation athletically so it figured that they would give Navy problems. I was surprised that the Mids could not slow them down at all on defense. They just could handle ASU's speed.

LOL. So silly with the PJ comparisons.

If I was coach, I would have a bruiser. I think it sets a good tone and a toughness indicator for Navy. You might beat us but we our going to play smash mouth and let you know you played a tough physical team.

Suzan Waldman and John Sterling and his THUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHE YANKEES WIN! THUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHE YANKEES WIN!!!! I have has enough of those two. Typical NYC baloney! You get a 162 games with those people plus pre-season and playoffs. ENOUGH ALREADY. Remember the Scooter and his "Holy Cow!"? Rmember Mel Allen and his "Ballantine Blast"? I do rtemember Red Barber of the Dodgers sitting in "The Catbird Seat", who was better than all of them. Who can forget tho Russ Hodges of the NY Giants in the Polo Grounds yelling, " THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNENT! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNENT! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNENT! ( WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!" NYC sports has never been the same since to me.

Re: Navy in Kraft Fight Hunger bowl at 4PM today. Will Kraft
My all-time favorite Army announcer was Ted Husing. In the famous Army-Duke game in the Polo Grounds in 1953 when Army upset highly ranked Duke that day holding Duke on four downs with the ball finally resting on the 1-inch line and Army then sealing the win. At the final gun, Husing said to his color commentator (Edgar Kennedy, who later became the NBA Commissioner), struggling to say in his famous sporting voice, "EDGAR, TAKE OVER, I JUST CAN"T TALK ANYMORE!!!" He was so excited, Husing's voice failed him. Now that was a classic moment for me for all-time in following the Army team on the radio.

Jerry deserves the acclamation. That stadium is truly a palace. Whether you like the Cowboys or Jones himself or not, he sure did build a magnificient structure. He will be remembered after his passing for sure for what he has done for his Dallas fans and the glory of pro football.

Re: This was the year to beat Navy, though I doubt Middies
We have many things to fix before we can claim a CIC Trophy. I don't see it happening soon enough for me. Pessimistic? Yeah, I guess. That's ok because I just don't see the signs of much stability here right now to try a different course. We are just "too comfortable in our own skin" as they say from top to bottom in this program these days. Our sights are too fixed unable to focus on concrete changes or unwilling to do so. There is no panic, little focus on reality, with little pressure to change much of anything. Not much hope and that's a dangerous obsticle for improvement.
