Army 34 Navy 24

I'm working under the assumption that Army plays like they did against AF.

Navy-38 Army-24

We begin losing for the second decade now. Really I see no reason why we should win. Our offense is very good tho but our pourous defense and inconsistency on special teams negates all the good we have done this season on offense.
Best rushing team in the country and poorest defense I can ever remember. No balance offense to defense at all.

Re: Navy 38 Army 31

Army 26 Navy 23 in OT
For the past several seasons Navy has made much better use of the extra preparation time than Army; even sacrificing a Thanksgiving leave or two to concentrate on refinining their game and introducing some new elements. This appeared to be the case again this year as SI, in his most recent writeup, stated that Army's midweek practice  was more mental than physical. However, some intangibles such as Army's overall superior strength of schedule and the return of Terry Baggett will make a difference.
While Navy's QB's, even those enjoying less than stellar seasons, have habitually raised their performance level vs Army, I look for Steelman, in his adieu collegiate game, to show the "Steely" determination he demonstrated vs AFA and to lead the way to a merciful end to this long decade of agony.

Re: PREDICTION THREAD. ARMY 25, Navy 24

I'm going 25-24 good guys with a last minute FG to win...stop me I you've heard this one.

Too bad Pat Malcom's out of eligibility; I hope Army's special teams are ready. They have not been a shining light this year, but I think the game will depend on them showing up.

BEAT NAVY!!!!

Ya, Beat 'Em!

Im going to step outside the box her, and predict that this game wont be close, and Army will win.  Something just feels right this week. Maybe Ive been struck in the head too many times eek1, or had too much black and gold Koolaide, but I feel a bigtime W coming our way.  And if you want a score, try Army 38 - Navy 14.

From the Sagarin ratings, Army's SoS is 83.  Navy's is 76.

Army in a Rout

finnane,
Agreeing with you.  Army will get ahead early, the defense will play inspired and the coaching staff won't put on the brakes trying to milk the clock like they did in the AF game.  We will run away with it as the Corps & Army fans around the world will celebrate wildly the whole 4th quarter as Army ends 10 years of Navy's dominance.

Army 48
Navy Minus 3  (they are penalized 10 points for their typical undisciplined march on)

Rab, I also think Navy will win 38-24.

This is a hard game to predict, I believe. Will Army's O and D play like they did against AF? Will Navy's O get off to a slow start or fast start? Will Navy's O use enough passes to combat Army's D trying to take away the outside pitches & runs? Will Army's O play error free, meaning no key turnovers & penalties?

Both teams could score 30 or more pts. in this one, but Navy's D is better overall than Army's, and I see this being the final edge for Navy making it 11 in a row over Army. Maybe it will be only a FG difference, maybe it will be more. Army could win the game, but I just do not think Army's D will play good enough overall to allow Army to win the game. I believe Navy has prepared to mix in a few passes during the game to burn Army enough to really pile up the yards--and points. Army should get a lot of yardage on O also.

For those that think Army will rout Navy, I say you are absolutely dreaming!!! Only chance for this possibly happening is if Navy has 5 key turnovers in their own territory!

So...I expect Navy to pass enough to keep moving the ball on Army's D at least most of the game. I also expect Army's O to move the ball alot also. So, If Navy doesn't win 38-24, Navy still wins something like 34-24, 31-24, 31-27, maybe even 38-31. I do not expect a 20-17 game, not with both teams offenses as good as they are.

NAVY beats Army 38-24. NAVY EXCE11ENCE for sure!

Re: PREDICTION THREAD.

I think Navy will win but I want Army to win.

Score ?  I have no idea. I would think it would be high with our bad D. Maybe in the 30's for both teams at least.

The only prediction I am sure that will come true after the game is sadly RE will NOT step down nor will he be fired. We will be stuck with him at least through next year.

That being the case I see another 2 or 3 win at best season in 2013.

Plain, Don't want it to be true, but....

the Performance Gap between the Navy Offense/Army Defense is far greater than the Army Offense superiority over Navy defense.  And, Navy has superior Coaching & Special Teams.

Unless Army rises to the occasion to play beyond their capability on Defense & Special Teams with our Offense firing on all pistons simultaneously, we cannot win.  RE & staff are incapable of inspiring such a performance.  Maybe, with GEN Odierno and GEN Dempsey on sideline providing some leadership and seniors reaching deep, the Army Team can pull it off.  But, I doubt it.  I expect Navy game to look a lot like Wake Forest game.

That said, I am a terrible sports prognosticator and advise those gambling to pick opposite my picks if they want to win.  Beat Navy!

I just can't see Trent Steelman not finishing his illustrious career without a win over Navy.

As QB, he has won so many big games or had so many great West Point wins.

Today will be won by Trent Steelman and Frank Allen.  Pure will and determination.

Army 31 Navy 27

Agreed Aon50.  If we do win, it will be sheer determination and will by Trent Steelman and Seniors leading underclassmen to victory in spite of our coaching staff's incompetence.  Same as Air Force game.
