Re: Uniforms for the A-N Game

Thanks for posting the pics here, i just saw them on Facebook too. I'm not sure yet what I think about the jerseys, but I know I'm not a fan of the black over black look. More importantly, I love the gold color of the helmets! Tis is the color we should have stuck with, instead of saving it only for special games.

Most importantly, they just need to win!!!!

Beat 'em!

Re: Uniforms for the A-N Game

No doubt this will generate a lot of comments from us old guys about a topic that's of far greater importance to the current generation.  I do like the gold helmets, and who knows what the current crop of cadets finds appropriate in uniforms these days.

Personally, I find the Oregon and Rutgers uniforms a little weird, but I still haven't gotten used to the idea of hair sticking out the back of the helmets, the proliferation of tatoos, or the diamond stud earrings you see on some of the players either.  I recall when my youngest son complained that I hadn't commented on his new earring.  I told him he was better off than I hadn't.  I'm sure he wouldn't have appreciated my thoughts on the matter.

So if the players like the uniforms, I'm good with them.

Why did they scribble on the sleeves and the helmets?   I think Army should have a version of service ribbons.  They could have one for the "honorable battle" of San Diego and one for the Temple "engagement".  I mean no disrespect to our service personnel nor to our cadets, but why puke up the uniform???noideanoideanoidea

Ugly. Nike didn't know no one will ever wear #41(Glenn Davis)...

again. Hate the idea of SAs wearing the Nike logo. Sell them space on the Jumbotron, but keep them off the unis.

The "scribble" is a map of the Battle of the Bulge.

At least the gold colored helmet is back. Much better than the mustard colored helmets used during the first 11 games.

Army's defense should come out in the second half dressed exactly like Navy's offense. Imagine trying to get off a pass when everyone looks alike.

That is the gold color the helmets should be.

The unis are strange. Maybe I will like them IF they bring us a win.

I'm a traditionalist all the way, but I guess these aren't all that bad. Love the real gold on the helmets, and even though the Battle of the Bulge map is downright weird I can live with it. The only thing that really bugs me are the black pants; if the trousers were gold this would be a solid alternate uniform.

Keep the helmets (even with the doodles on the stripe) for next year and match the pants with a similar gold and we'll actually look like the Army football team for the first time in years.

You've nailed it 94! From the Academy, "Design of new uniforms commemorating the Battle of the Bulge."

When was the last time uniforms won a game? Just wondering.....

We may be going to hell in a handbasket but,by God, we are going to look good(well, flashy) doing it....

Style before substance seems to rule the day.....

The Davis jersey is for sale

Which is a nice touch instead of the bland #12 that most teams have for sale anyway. The Davis jersey is a nice touch as it gives the fans a chance to wear the shirt of a real college football legend. They also had Dawkins jerseys for sale at one point.

Getting rid of Nike (or any other elite uniform outfitter) would be terrible for the program. You want your players to be equipped with the litany of offerings that a Nike, Under Armour, Adidas etc gives the kids.

Re: This program has all the trappings....

Of any other big time program in the country. The buildings, the facilities, the cutting edge fashion, TV contract, big time nationally televised rivalry game that is just as big or bigger than a lot of lesser bowls. Got it all.........
