Not to simply be argumentative here Viking BUT the ONLY venue outside of Falcon Stadium for this game is Mile High Stadium in my opinion if this is truly a money making affair.
Chicago is in no way a "neutral" for this game. Chicago is loaded with real and subway ND alums/fans.
Jerry's World in Arlington and in a state where we recruit heavily is a monstrosity of excess run by one of the worst owners in the NFL. Jones controls all events in that stadium. As such he charges insane rates for tickets, parking and concessions. It takes the fun and affordability out of a college event. Jerry's World is NFL all the way!
What's curious here is that if Mueh is only looking to profiteer from moving the game to a big venue, why not this year when ND is coming off the year they just had? Until ND can show they are the monster program of the past on a consistent basis hold the game at Falcon Stadium. Air Force needs to get this football program healthy from a competitive standpoint before they start taking the circus on the road in my opinion.
My other fear with moving the game is that this athletic department would have to hire an outside promoter to market and sell the event, maybe even in Denver too. That comes at a cost and then you factor in the travel etc....I seriously question the profit moving this game would bring. We've been wooed before by a promoter who wanted us to play in Seattle and there were great promises of $$, but the guy was a clown and he went bankrupt. We didn't get paid.
