Isn't Public Affairs a “real” AFSC, IYO? You statement sounds as though you think only people rated positions are true AF members and warriors.
I had several AFSCs over the past 27 years and while I didn't always get what I wanted I did the best at every job and believe I added value. I saw more Comm, IO/IW, Civil Eng, Logistics, Security, Intel, Linguist and Combat Camera guys at risk and often taking fire. And there are some AFA grads in that list.
My point is I never belittle anyone's service (unless in jest) when it’s done in earnest and to the best of their ability. If Chad or anyone else finds a position that meets their needs as well as the service it’s all the better, or would you rather have a disgruntled officer forced into a job they don't want?
