Alex Norton from Hamlet, NC (Richmond Co.) played this year at 295 pounds.  He carries a 4.41 GPA, a National Honor Society student and is ranked in the top 10% of his class.  During the season he finished with 110 pancake blocks and was voted 1st team all-conference.  In the weightroom he squats - 500, Hang Cleans - 325, and Benchs - 300.  I spoke to his family and they are real excited about the 1st class education he will receive and playing for the Air Force Academy.

You guys also might have a 6' 2" 285 DT on the hook too...currently has offers from Cal, UNM, UNR, and a few others.

He is still growing too...

Possibly looking at West Point, why should he choose AFA over WP? My hope is that he chooses AFA...being a USCG guy, if there was an academy that I would want my sons to attend, it'd be AFA without hesitation.

He's a good kid and comes from a strong family...the kid is very bright, just like his parents. He used to ski competitively and is very athletic...he can move.

Air Force commit Alex Norton will play for Team USA under 18 in Austin, Texas on Feb. 6.  His team will play team Canada in the International Bowl.
