Though Boise State never spent a day in the Big East, the Broncos still must pay a $10 million....... http://espn.go.com/college-spo...nce-sources-say
No details yet but the article 'sounds' like no special TV rights to Boise St. Navy is also going to continue to look at the situation and then make the best decision for them. My thoughts, and not many would probably agree, would be to add Navy to the MWC in football only (such as Hawaii). I think it would be good in several ways:
1) A stable football conference for Navy with the MWC
2) If in the same divisionn (assuming two in the MWC) as AF it would give both teams better ability to schedule another higher profile team in OOC. Example of AF we could play DII (as I call it) on parents day weekend, 8 conference games to include Navy, Play OOC Navy plus two others. This would give us one more top OOC game than we have now in addition to keeping the S.A. rivalry intact.
3) This actually would give a good East Coast TV presence for the MWC while not becoming a two coast league. Navy and Army both consider themselves national colleges just as Air Force so I believe it could be a good fit for both! Navy brings a national TV coverage due to it's long heritage and especially viewers from the east coast. Travel for them would be away to MDT/PDT for only 3 or 4 more games a year as they already travel every other year to play us.
