Except for Parcells, easily the worst coach AFA has ever had. Going to 6 bowls in a row isn't impressive when your record is usually 6-6 or 7-5, when most of those wins are against Army, Wyo, CSU, UNLV, NM and the annual opening game exhibition against a small college team.

TC has one great win in his career and the coach responsible for that win against Houston, left AFA after that win and now is at Fresno.

TC is now proving he can't win with his recruits. His Know-It-All & arrogant personality, must of chased away a lot more AFA fans & season ticket holders like myself, which was reflected by about 8,000 to 10,000 people showing up at the last 2 home games.

Time for TC to go and AFA needs to bring some excitement to the program and fans back to Falcon Stadium.

I disagree. Calhoun has ZERO "signature wins" not a single one! This team is too small, too slow, too uninspired and too mistake prone. The staff is overhyped and overloaded with grads. This was the worst 6-6 team in D-1 this year.

Great first post...just kidding.

So those who want Coach Calhoun fired were expecting a big year from our football team? I think folks with the slightest bit of common sense and a little observation expected this to be a tough year for the Falcons.

Doesn't mean everything's wonderful in Falcon-Football-Land...but fire Coach Calhoun? ...Unfortunately, my job requires urinalysis testing because I'd hit whatever some of the folks on this board are smoking.

Hold the coaches accountable, raise the bar, and don't reward mediocrity. That doesn't mean you fire the head coach who has brought your football team to a bowl game every season he's been here...

Our first losing season in his tenure (if you include the bowl game) and ppl are calling for him to get fired? Are you all serious? What a joke. You guys only come out when bad things happen.

FYI - Both of the last two games had 25K+ attend the game.  Your off by almost 70% on your superlative.

Hmmm, the Indians are on the warpath, and rightfully so.

However, if we all step back, there’s no way that anyone should have had any expectations for this team. I think a bunch of us said at the beginning of the year that this team would be 6-6, and no better than 7-5. I was hoping we were wrong, but it didn’t work out that way

You can’t lose 80% of your starters on defense, a defense that gave up 30 a game to D-1 competition and was one of the worst in college football, and expect to do better the next year.

Sorry boys. There is no “D” in Air Force. Our corners are undersized, and can’t effectively stay with anyone unless they start by giving a 10 yard cushion at the line of scrimmage. In the corners’ defense, the Falcons have no pass rush, and their blitz packages just aren’t that creative since TDR left.

This needs to be a wakeup call for the staff and the players. Everyone else is getting better, and the Falcons are going backwards, making the difference even more notable.

Great well thought out post as usual Eagle.

Calhoun quoted in the Ft Worth Star Telegram saying we need bigger players as we are losing the "battle of mass". Who's fault is that?!?!

I have one expectation for this program EVERY year. BEAT ARMY AND BEAT NAVY. That's the benchmark. As long as all three SA's are in the FBS, that is the benchmark. Sure I expected an off year but yesterday was an opportunity to exorcise the demons of the 2012 season and put together four solid quarters of football after rest and recuperation for a month. I have never said this before but I was genuinely embarrassed for the Falcon football team yesterday. We were dominated on and off the field. Outplayed and outcoached. The second half was nothing short of complete ugly.

The current vector is descending and inverted. Never a good thing. The program needs a complete return to basic fundamental football. Calhoun and staff will be measured by how they respond to this adversity. Next season starts today.

Add to the equation for everyone making comments (think about this after taking a deep breath)...in addition to the loss of players to graduation there were approximately 6-7 projected starters (and/or several on the two deep) that were not here to suit up for the beginning of the season through now for 'various' reasons.  Tough for any team to overcome much less a team that was already hurting due to graduation.  Keep that into (at least) a little bit of perspective.  Others more in the know may have the real number of players I'm talking about to give creadance to or to correct me.
