Really Enjoying This

Regardless of what happens the rest of the way, I love boat racing these a holes. Can't stand Gomez, Braun, Ramirez, Weeks or that dirt bag catcher that sucker punched Snider. The rest are collateral damage. F the Brewers.

Great start to series. A sweep would be awesome.

Gomez is easily my most hated player in baseball and while obviously talented and a good player, he seems like he would be a total nightmare to manage with his actions. Maybe I am dead wrong on that but he seems like that player that makes a manager pull his hair out.

Yes, there is nothing better than seeing this. Love the fight the Pirates are showing and love its in Milwaukee. Also love to see the Brewers making so many mistakes. Gomez getting thrown out at 3B from Marte trying to go 1st to 3rd was fantastic...did I mention they were down by 7 runs?

Love to see the team start to show some fight.

What makes me sick is thinking about the 4-5 games that we just flat out blew to these guys - including the back to back games of Braun taking Grilli deep. Those are the games that are going to hurt all Winter. We owe these guys a lot more than a single 3 game sweep.

What makes me sick is the way NH and the FO threw away the month of April. They had 26 games against the division to start the season and went in with no 1B or RF and a suspect starting staff. To me that is the biggest mistake the Pirates made and they have been batting up hill ever sense.

We lost 5  1-run games to the Brewers.

(1) Trading for Ike Davis was a dumb trade - especially after deciding they didn't need to re-sign Jones or Morneau.

(2) Giving Morris away for a draft pick, that we then used to draft a outfielder/catcher - which we did not need either.

(3) Blowing several games by using the likes of Grilli, Frieri, Pimentel, etc in high leverage situations - when it was obvious that all three were seriously flawed.

Yep.  Other than Morris, who seemed to me to be a guy who would never make it in Pittsburgh for whatever reason(s), these will probably be the decisions that cost the Pirates a second straight playoff appearance.  There's still five weeks to go, of course, and a lot can happen.  But a lot has already gone "right" for the Pirates to even be within shouting distance of the second wildcard.  Meaning, a lot of other teams have badly underachieved.  In most years, it would already have been time to raise the white flag.  All it would take to bury us is for the Cardinals or Giants or---much less likely, but---the Braves to get hot, and it's over.  Unless it's the Pirates who get hot, or hotter than the others.  Again, it's still possible, but it's growing increasingly difficult and unlkely.   Still, 2 out of 3 against the Brewers was a good start.  If they can do the same with the Cardinals, we may have a chance.
