Re: Short night for Verlander

Verlander isn't very good anymore.  Last season he showed signs of decline.  Was walking more batters and giving up more hits, this year is just the next step with him striking out a lot less batters.  The Tigers were extremely stupid to sign him to that deal.  You should never sign pitchers over 30 to long term deals.  It's going to kill them in the near future.  He wouldn't even be in the Pirates' starting rotation this season, he is literally a $28 million #4 starter at this point.

yea he is having a rough go at it this year. This is one time im happy the Pirates dont spend stupid money.

Still nice to see 8 runs from an offense with no Walker or Cutch and players like Nix and snider starting

Verlander made Katie Upton gush so I say Verlander is doing just fine this year.

Yeah he is doing fine in his personal life, plus he is making $20 million this year lol.  He just sucks on the baseball diamond.

Its funny how every time a big name pitcher gets lit up their team assumes injury to protect the pitcher's ego.

He is hurt. Was having trouble in warm ups. Wouldn't be surprised to see him out for quite a while.

Yes, according to the P-G, he is having an MRI on his shoulder today.

He had no command last night, and just had to toss get-me-over pitches that got hit hard.
