Could Chris Johnson get a look as the 5th starter? He was horrible for the Sox, but since he signed with the Pirates he has been pretty good. He was just lights out during Winter ball. He is 28 and has ZERO ML innings. Could he be the spot starter until Liriano is ready?

Hey, it can't hurt to have another strong pitching arm in camp.  The more competition, the better.  If more players get the message that they have to earn their spot on the Pirates' 25 man roster, then more players will take care of business because they either do that, or they're on the bus to Indianapolis or Altoona or another organization entirely.

No

Johnson still hasn't proven himself at the AAA level.  I don't think there is any chance (barrring many, many injuries - say 5 or more) that Johnson sees the 40 man roster this year.

Yeah with Sangue and Katoy, absolutely no chance he sees the 40-man roster, let alone the big league club.
