Jair Jurrjens

Jair Jurrjens

I know he had an awful year in 2012, and was out for a while with a groin injury.  He is apparently available.  May not take much to get him as a bounce back candidate.  I think his salary is around $5 million.

I'm a fan of Jurrjens as well.  If the price is reasonable, I'm all for trying to bring him in.  I don't think I'd offer him more than $3M though.  Someone will probably throw more money at him, just because they can, and Jurrjens will end up somewhere else.

i would trade for him in a heart beat. He will make Bedard money next season which is still cheaper then Edwin Jackson or Dan Harren

I think there are better candidates than Jurrjens, but for peanuts and as long as we're not counting on him, sure, bring him in.

Wow, 27 years old with a career 3.62 ERA in 125 starts.  I didn't even know he was available.  They should go after him big time, his value is low after last season.  He does have some injury history though.

Would not touch him with a 10 foot pole. Hopefully the Brewers sign him.

Because of injuries, katoy?  Or just don't like him?

Injuries, don't like him and he can't be trusted. When he pitched well it was because he was lucky. He's the Forrest Gump of pitching. You never knew what you're going to get. His peripherals would be similar and one year it would have a 2.60 ERA and the next 4.64.

His walk rate was almost higher than his strikeout rate last year. He even got lit up in the minors. He's a disaster waiting to happen.

Sounds like another Pirate pitcher who we have traded for.   Doesn't it?
