A Lakes Weakness?

A Lakes Weakness?

I recently attended the Lakes v. Auburn-Mountain View game and the offensive line looked bad.  They flop their line to get Pototae on a particular side and the other lineman are not nearly as athletic and do not move their feet or sustain blocks.  This was against the last place team in the SPSL 3A.  If it was not for the extremely athletic skill position players and AMV's enept punter the game would have been much closer.  When Lakes runs up against better competition (especially those with a good defensive line) the play of their O-line could be an issue. I am rooting for Lakes this year but it is a concern.

Interesting you say that, I attended a combine this summer and struck up a conversation with some parents of Lakes players who had your exact same concerns going into this season.  So far has not seemed to had much of an impact though.

Have you seen peninsula play? Or even better rate how are the other top teams in the SPSL in regards to being

competitive?

Re: A Lakes Weakness?

I kind of judge it based upon the Union v. Lakes game last year, because Union was such a Junior Heavy team last year and was very phyisical and big up front and how well I see this o-line blocking that front. I see Lakes' o-line struggling against a front that is big and can match their strength.  I am not sure how big Penninsula's front was but I have seen about half the league play and I know there is not a ton of size and athleticism other than Lakes and Penninsula.  I guess the only way to tell how good the top two are is when we see Penninsula play in the playoffs.

Is it @ Penninsula? I am not sure if the Football field is close to the high school, but there is a bar right down the hill from the high school that has a killer club sandwich.

RE: A Lakes Weakness?

From what I heard about the Lakes V Union game last season Lakes was doing fine until the coach stopped running the ball and the passing game was not getting the job done? Bottom line if you have that many D-1 athletes and you cant win it all It's a coaching issue.

Bro does Lakes have troble with physical teams or something because the claw always seems to give them trouble?

If they are tough and not afraid (which enumclaw is not afraid of lakes) then lakes has problems with slow starts.  Usually they will get it going after that. Against a good team though it may be a problem.
