Not that it will matter much who's behind the plate, but I'm really looking forward to getting an up-close look at Billy Hamilton. Watched him wreak havoc vs. the Pirates over the weekend, and just continue to marvel at how ridiculous he is, once he hits the basepath.

After swiping 75 of 90 at Triple-A this year, he's now got 12 Stolen Bases w/the Reds so far.  He's only got 16 or so Plate Appearances, all told in the 10 games he's appeared in since his September call-up.

This, coming off last year's record-breaking campaign of 155 SB's, split out over A-Ball and Double-A.....and 103 in 2011 at Low-A.

Insane.  Always love to watch guys like this, no matter what level they're playing at.

Because MdD is a proven scrub and Brown is guaranteed to be a bigger contributor in the future? Not my words, but you'll find them in the GDT from last week when they faced Matt Cain.

There really is no excuse for Tovar and den Dekker not being in this game. Terry just loves his "veterans"

Harang teetering on the edge here. 1 run in, bases loaded for Votto with 2 outs.

Choo auditioning for Sandy here, and Murphy robbed d'Arnaud of a CS. Perfect throw there.

It's going to be a long series.

Being 3 years older, his ceiling is also a bit lower and harder than Matt's. Brown has been getting playing time, and his numbers have steadily dwindled, even as we grind our way through the expanded roster season. He is also a liability in the OF, unlike den Decker, who flashes serious leather in CF and RF.

Walks Votto, 2-0. Harang has faced 12 guys, and 7 have gotten on base. eek

Murphy demonstrating why he's a high-effort, middling talent defensively. He tries so hard, but sometimes that extra drive is a liability. A natural can just let it flow out there, like a dancer.

He's not a good defender, but his bat is solid at 2B and he's become a good baserunner. He's fine until a better option comes along, but I would like a real 2B.

Cueto had thrown 22 in the inning. Bad play by young.

Brown is 4 for his last 40? Wow, that is a bad run. Not sure I'd be giving him more at-bats at the moment. Might need to catch his breath or something.

I certainly hope so.  After this series, we have Milwaukee for 4 at home.   We need at least 2 losses this week in Cincy.
