GDT 9/22: Tovar or Not Tovar

Wright gets the day off. Tovar grounds out in his first MLB AB.

Red Zone / Sunday Ticket. Giants playing like they are the Mets today.

Another big spot for Tovar here. 2nd & 3rd, one out, 2-1 Phils.

2-run single for his first big league RBIs.

Big hit from Tovar. I wish we would promote more players straight from AA.

Hitters too though. Especially now that we play in Vegas. Regardless of AAA time, players still need to adjust to the big leagues.

I would have brought up DeGrom and Goeddel.

I like Tovar already lol. Faster and better defense than Tejada, and he's hit the ball pretty hard so far.

deGrom is shut down due to shoulder issues.

Maybe he will be like Harvey & Osvaldo. Everyone knows that Tovar is a good defender, but he'll also magically show good basestealing and hitting ability now that he's with the Mets.

And Goeddel hasn't really earned a call-up.

Give me a break!  I will predict that Tovar never plays in the majors beyond this brief stint.  He is all glove, no bat.  His type are 1 penny per dozen.

It's about development.

That would be nice. I would still get a SS though just to be safe. If Tovar hits really well in Vegas, it's a good problem to have.
