1-0 Mets in the first. EY jr looks to be a serviceable leadoff man.

Did Cain get hurt? I saw that he was pulled.

Cain is not sharp. Must be hurt. Just following the box score and he's walked 3, given up 2 RBI singles, and Cain's got the hook.

Yeah, you gotta think he is hurt or sick. Three runs and a some walks are bad, but its only 3-0 on two singles.

Wheeler flashes a nasty curve now and again.

People have been acting like Wheeler's a disaster, but a 4.15 ERA for a kid's first 4+ games isn't exactly a red flag. His stuff is good enough that he can work on his command in MLB. It's not like the Mets are playing for a playoff spot this year.

TC mentioned in his spot on Francesa's show today that  they heard ZWs slider was his second best pitch, but so far its been the curve.

RE: 5th Wheel(er day)

From what I've heard, before the Giants changed Wheeler's mechanics, the CB was his second best pitch. After the change, ZWs cut slider was the second best pitch. He's gone back to his original mechanics and it's taken time to get back his CB. But, when he's on, the CB is the second best pitch.

Wheeler's control is noticeably better so far. He's getting more swing and misses off the fastball too, although the velocity is only 93-95.

The announcer said Cain lasted 2/3 inning against Dodgers last start. Clearly he's not right .

Q makes nice looking plays but he doesn't seem like he's very quick moving laterally. Almost looks like he shuffles over to balls rather than sprinting for them.

50 pitches through 4. Very nice, especially coming off the million pitches he threw his last few starts.

Wheeler looking good so far, just one hit on a 2-2 CU. Not sure why Buck called for back to back CU's in that spot, Panda was setup for high heat.

Would like to see them get more, this game is not over at 3-0.

It looks like he's throwing fewer sliders and more changeups compared to previous outings.

Where's the guy who, the last time Wheeler pitched, was on the game thread basically giving up on him?
