I believe that Tapia starting for St. Lucie, Ynoa in Savannah.

Bustchini put on the DL.

Looking like they may have been a bit too aggressive on Nido.  .389 OPS through 33 ABs so far for Brooklyn.  3 Ks, 0 BBs.

LOL. He and Nimmo are quickly turning out to be 2 of the worst 1st round picks by the Mets over the last 15 years. Lets look at the last 20 picks.

1998- Jason Tyner- The infamous Jason Tyner. Not sure what the word on him was when he was a prospect, but seems similar to Nimmo.
2000- Billy Traber- Got our moneys worth out of him, getting the best 2bman in the league in Alomar.
2000- Bob Keppel- Keppel was an OK prospect at one point, if I remember correctly.
2001- Heilman- Although we all hate Heilman, we at least got a good year or 2 of him in relief
2001- Wright- Probably the best pick in Mets historically, realistically.
2002- Kazmir- Great pick, at one time a top 10 prospect in MLB.
2003- Milledge. ^^
2004- Humber- Eh, at #3 he was a bust, but headlined the trade for best pitcher in baseball.
2005- Pelfrey- Elite pitching prospect, servicable ML starter
2007- Kunz- Terrible
2007- Vineyard- Terrible
2008- Ike- Has taken a turn for the worse, still not many 18 overall picks hit 30 HR's in the Major Leagues
2008- Reese Havens- Loved the pick at the time, just generic bust.
2008- Brad Holt- Tons of talent, nothing wrong with that pick.
2010- Harvey- Obviously a brilliant pick
2011- Nimmo- Huge stretch at 13 overall, 25 months later can't hit low A pitching
2011- Fulmer- Great pick, almost makes up for Nimmo, but still a long ways to go
2012- Cecchini- Just a horrendous pick. He told the Mets he played like Pedroia and that he saw Johans no hitter, so they gave him $2+ mil. Only defense for this bozo is that there was not a whole lot of talent following him
2012- Plawecki- See Fulmer
2013- Dom Smith- His "worst case scenerio" still seems like he'll be a very good prospect instead of a great one.

We've actually had some great picks. Eats me alive that we picked Nimmo and Cecchini though.

The real shame is, if we didn't sign Cecchini last year we could have had Renfroe, Mcguire, Shipley or Crawford this year.banghead

Bustchini is just the worst prospect, if not worst human being, of all-time. IMO.

Worse than Nimmo?  I'm starting to have my doubts.

The first month of the season, before he hurt his hand, when he was hitting .320 and had an OBP over .400..you knew all along that Nimmo sucked right?

I don't get the rush to label the kid a bust. For a kid of his pre-draft inexperience, the Mets have pushed him pretty aggressively, having him skip rookie ball (not counting the ten games or whatever in 2011). He's one of the youngest kids in the league. Most prospects improve in fits and starts, not in a straight line and with this kid it will probably be more pronounced. It was always going to be a 5-6 year development path with his rawness. I'm not sure why people are panicking already. The Mike Trouts and Byron Buxtons are the rare exception, not the rule.

If the Mets have him repeat Savannah again next year and he stinks it up, then I'll start worrying. Hopefully he finishes the way he started this year and he'll be right on track.

6 shutout innings, maybe they left him in too long. We see that even at the major league level. rolleyes

If he had a good slider, he would profile as a nasty closer.
Mets trade away reigning CY Young award winner.
Still have the best pitcher in Baseball.

I still think that it's a good start from Tapia. Keep the Ks coming, lower the BBs.

Wilmer just bunted in the 5th inning while LV was up 3-2 and with Tejada at 1B.

Wally Backman is so awful.
