It's good to see Thole back in the lineup. He doesn't do anything flashy, but he makes a lot less outs than Nickeas does. That's important.
I hope Beltran has a nice game, but Molina Ks in every at bat and Wainwright gets smacked around.

Long, stressful last few days. Looking forward to this game tonight. Great pitching matchup.

Too bad they can't start the game early. Thunderstorms are due to roll in sometime between 8:30 and 10:00 p.m.

Its amazing how much better the lineup looks with Thole in there instead of Nickeas.
Tejada starts running the bases and taking infield in St Lucie. That puts him about about 2 weeks out.
The dreaded sig of doom has chosen future hall of famer Jason Heyward as its target.
May the baseball gods have mercy on your soul!

Perception I guess. Well, that one guy is going to get on base about 50% more often than the other guy. The difference in OBP between .235 and .356 is pretty huge. Put another way, he'll make 18% fewer outs. Within the course of the game, that's almost an entire extra at bat for someone at the top of the line up. Say, David Wright?

Some people booing Beltran. Morons.
On edit: mostly positive, though. Gotta give a classy welcome for a classy player. Then cheer when he Ks.

For those that still harbor hate for Carlos because he didn't swing at strike 3 in 06 take note of the swings by Baxter and Kirk this inning when they k'd. That is exactly what would have happened had Carlos swung. As nasty a CB since Doc in his heyday.

There's also less video and scouting available on a rookie. The height of K-Rod's career was probably his debut in the 2002 postseason.

Boo him? Man NY has some idiots these days. I really don't get that statement... Are you saying that Beltran during his stay with the Mets was a better position player than Piazza was? Than David Wright?

Better inning for Santana, only 9 pitches.
