CYoung? There has to be better options.

Flores with on off on off play?

Terry and his lineups. Screwy.

Play Flores and Sandy should be circling the trade world trying to land a LF. Disappointing that nothing seems to be brewing

The play, at least as far as I am concerned, is to release C.Y. and bring up MDD.  There is no longer a way to justify the poor offense and lackluster defense of CY when we could be getting much better defense and at the very least similar offense from the young guys.

As to Flores, if he is going to be in the majors he needs to play, period.  It is clear to everyone that Tejeda is not the answer at SS.

Also, strongly consider releasing Abreu

We're 5 games under .500.  We cant really justify trading our talent for an outfield bat...especially when the bats we want are probably more likely to come after the season.

Its more likely we hold on to everyone we can and try to steal a move for Tulowitzki this Winter.

I would prefer just releasing Young, but Alderson is convinced to give him as best a chance as humanly possible to perform first.

The dreaded sig of doom has chosen future hall of famer Jason Heyward as its target.

May the baseball gods have mercy on your soul!

I'm not interested in making "patchwork" kind of deals.  Read: any time a name like Alex Rios comes up.

I just think anything close to or above .500 for this season bodes better for next season. Put in another 74 win season and suddenly we need to see a substantial "flip" to vie for any playoff spot. I'd rather start now and get the ball rolling toward next year rather then waiting for another off season where the guys we wanted either don't want to play here or are too expensive. We have seen it enough times. Tulo stuff seems to be a pipe dream where we inquire and show interest but we're shopping in the champagne aisle with beer money.

I pretty much agree with all of this. We are in a spot where we almost have to play Chris Young because Abreu is such a waste of space.  Notice how we didnt even bother to play Abreu against a RHP even though CY played last night against a lefty.  Abreu is done.  Enough already.  It was stupid to keep both CY and Abreu and dump Kirk.  This would have been a perfect game for MDD or Kirk to play.

CYoung is done. The idea that Terry plays guys because "they aren't hurting the team because we are playing well" is beyond stupid. If there's an expectation of better days and playoff contention, he better lose that .500 and below attitude about playing certain non performers.

That's been pretty amusing, I must admit.  Hopefully, Wheeler's "on" this afternoon.

I said 2 of 3. Need Wheeler on target today. With CYoung and Tejada in there, I'm a little worried on the bats.
Get it done.

2 on, nobody out - after a pair of singles in the 2nd. Wheeler looking to get out of a jam.

Wheeler is dancing out of trouble through 2, 45 pitches though.

Maybe he buckles down, maybe he doesn't - still impressed he got through bases loaded, 1 out - unscathed

He struck out the pitcher, and Revere roped a line drive to Lagares.  I would differ from your characterization.tongue

I dont think he is long for this game.

As someone who's not watching, I just appreciate anything that eliminates crooked numbers on the scoreboard.  biggrin

I hear you. Sometimes, it's just about settling in, and the Phillies arent all that good. Just hope he can keep surviving.
