Tejada grounds into inning-ending double play with the bases loaded.

Flores goes 0-4, so he gets benched for the next 5 games in lieu of Ruben AA....

who grounds into a bases loaded DP on his first at bat

The best player on the Mets is always "the guy not starting the game." :)

Looking like another game where starting pitching is going to have to be solid.

Need a big inning.

9 pitch at bat for deGrom..

The guy is hitting .280. At least he brings "something" to the plate for the offense. I haven't followed how the other Met starters have been since they were on a 0-72 start (or whatever it was). it would be nice to get something out of them.

Leaving people on base all over the place again. I guess that 8-2 stretch is long gone for this team. Back to the same old blah.

I would love to know how other teams starting pitching fares at the plate....but other than deGrom

Colon, Niese, Wheeler, Dice & Gee are a combined 7 for 127.

Maybe the pitcher's can have a better approach, but what are you going to do? Get rid of a decent pitcher because he can't hit?

No, but I am wondering how it plays out in the overall result of added wins (or losses) because you're getting nothing out of the spot. I think we are seeing some pretty lethargic O since the ASB. It wouldn't hurt to get something out of the 9 spot once in a while...well more than 7 times in 127 at bats. In itself, it's probably not that big of a deal but when you start combining it with other aspects that need a tweak, it starts to add up.

Upping his trade value!  Maybe he'll hit doubles in twenty consecutive PAs...

Or finally realizing he would like another multi-million dollar contract at seasons end. He's another guy I can see putting on the gas after the season has already ended in mid August.

deGrom with a 1 hitter thru 4. Just can't get the bats going.

Chris Young is up to 88 wRC+. His career mark is 93. If he simply managed to put up solid defense with his mediocre offense, he'd be a useful player (or a tradable asset, at least). What the heck happened to his defense this year?
