If Hernandez starting the All Star Game decreases the possibility of him facing the Mets next week in Seattle, I'm all for it.

The dreaded sig of doom has chosen future hall of famer Jason Heyward as its target.

May the baseball gods have mercy on your soul!

Looking forward to watching Stanton in the Derby tonight. Probably the only round(s) I'll see.

They need to find a way make the HR Derby longer.  3 hours and counting just isn't enough time of listening to Chris Berman and John Kruk.

Question: Which two baseball teams are an Italian's favorite?

Answer:  The A's and O's

Todd Frazier has to be the oddest finalist in HR derby history.

Yeonis is absurdly good at this event, especially for a guy who is nowhere close to an All Star.

I keep forgetting Chris Berman exists as a thing that is part of the sports landscape and then being amazed to see big time sports productions like ESPN's NFL coverage and their MLB stuff resort to such a throwback shill with no knowledge of anything to do with sports except who's arse to kiss.

If you haven't seen the Jeter Nike commercial, you certainly will but Boomer and Carton were going over it today and spent what seemed like 10 mins wondering why Torre was not in the commercial. I defy anyone to watch the commercial who has a working knowledge of MLB over the last 20 years in NYC and not be able to identify Torre in the commercial. The two idiots were so completely oblivious to it that they even focused on the scene Torre is in and didn't see him. They were watching the video as they were speaking. I don't know if anyone called in to correct the nitwits.

The commercial should have been 10 seconds longer so we could see Jeter roll over a 10 hopper to short one last time.

That's funny.  I was nervous I wouldn't be able to notice him.. but it's pretty obvious.

Why is everything that Mr. Met does absolute gold?  Incredible.

I don't know the AL well enough, but it seems we were the only team in NL that had 1 all star. Maybe the Nats?

Someone did an absolutely seamless video of that. Although, I think it was a GIDP to 2nd. I will try to find it. Maybe deadspin. It was the first version I saw and I had to do a double take.

I still can't believe they went from Tim McCarver to Harold Reynolds. It's almost like they said, "who is the only announcer 99% of baseball fans would find even more obnoxious and idiotic than McCarver?"

It really has to be intentional. Like they need to appeal baseball to the lowest common denominator.

Of course Jeter is 2-2.  If somebody drives him in here they're gonna stumble over themselves to give him the MVP.
