OT: Dodgers Sign Greinke (6-Years, $147MM)
Done deal.....Dickey's days are numbered.
The Dodgers and Zack Greinke have agreed to a six-year, $147 million contract, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The deal is pending a physical. Greinke, 29, went 15-5 with a 3.48 ERA in 34 starts for the Brewers and Angels in 2012, having allowed 200 hits, 54 walks, and 18 home runs with 200 strikeouts in 212 1/3 innings.

WOw, 24.5 million a year...that's a whole lotta cheddar. R.A. will be a bargain (whether it's for us or some other team).

Just a matter of time before the Rangers GM gets on the phone to S.A.

If we do go ahead with that Mike Olt deal.. I hope we are doing so with having the mindset of flipping him for a real need.

$24.5 million for Greinke. This is absolutely ridiculous. I usually do not care about the $$, but this offseason seems nuts. What would Babe Ruth have gotten? $50 million a year? Mediocre outfielders getting more than $10 million a year? The $$ being thrown at freaking baseball players is a sad statement on the priorities of our society. I am disgusted.

The thing is though If everybody starts throwing $$$ around and the Mets sit on the outside looking in then that is a problem.

Certainly helps make 2/26M extension for RA seem like it should be no-brainer.

We better get more than Olt. Hopefully Olt will be flipped in a package for Justin Upton.

Hopefully, KC realizes just how expensive front line pitching is, and changes their tune regarding Myers.

We now hold the best SP on the trading/FA market...
We may be able to squeeze Olt, Martin, "+" from TEX now...

RE: Dodgers sign Zack Greinke....6 years 147 mill
Dodgers' payroll is going to be $220M, but likely higher. Yankees West.
AGone 21.8 Crawford 20.9 Kemp 20.25 Greinke 19 Beckett 17 Hanley 15.5 Ethier 13.5 Lilly 13.1 Billingsley 11 Kershaw 11
Manny Ramirez 8.3!
Have to say, there aren't a whole lot of sure things in that bunch. We'll see how this play out...
