Mets Holiday Packs

Yesterday I wanted to buy one of the Mets Holiday Packs in either the Promenade or Caeser's level.  The packs had 4 games and a ticket to the All Star Fan Fest.  The Caesers tickets were $129.  All the seats were way out in the outfield, so I called the Mets to see if they could move me a few sections closer to the infield.  They said they could not, but told me I can have a six- pack with the same All Star Game Fane fest ticket.  I had to select one of the Yankee games or Opening day (which I do not really want) for one of the six games.

I picked an assortment of games that were not neccessarily great games (Pirates, Nats in April, a mid-week Braves game).  I was so happy until he told me the cost for two seats was $840 something.  I almost fell of my chair.  I tolf them to keep their package.  The guy said we can go back to the original Hoilday pak, but the seats would still be way out in the outfiled.  I told him I will watch on TV and got off the phone.

What a colassal ripoff.  They have the nerve to charge those proces for the dreck they are putting on the field?  I just said "NO".  If payroll is slashed, so should ticket prices.  I love the Mets, but they will not bleed me dry.

I do not want to hear about the price of comparable entertainment.  Rain does not fall me if I see a Broadway show.  I had Mets season's seats for 8 years from 1984-1991.  The Mets are just not worth the price of their admission.

The organization is setting itself up in a bad cycle. They think the general public falls for these gimmicks of "get this for that" with astronomical prices attached. Attendance is going to be another downer this year if there's no improvement in the team. Now that they have the All-Star game this year they think they can tie regular season games to it and Mets fans will be lined up 8 deep to buy it. Think again.

RE: Mets Holiday Packs

Theoretically speaking....only reason I'd even inquire about a "pack" is for All-Star-related festivities. Otherwise, no reason whatsoever to invest in Met ticket packages.  noidea

None.

Here's your "explanation" from Dave Howard:
