C. Chavez Appeal On Friday

C. Chavez Appeal On Friday

Hello,

Just called and verified the time for the CC appeal for this Friday.

As of now the Board Meeting is set to start at 8:30 am. Somewhere about close to 10am or so the appeal for CC will take place.

As of right now this is still open to the public.

I will call on Thursday and see if any changes are taking place.

AzSportsnetwork will be there if it stays open to the public so that we can bring the EXACT info back to the fans on this message board so that the truth is stated in its entirety.

Has there ever been a 'team" appeal overturned? I recall years ago McClintock's top ranked baseball team was declared ineligible for the playoffs because of a paperwork issue. The school secretary didn't file forms or something documenting a transfer or a new student. Of couse the appeal was denied and a clerical error seems like much less of an infraction than a recuiting allegation.

I hope Salpointe sends a representative to show how to handle probation with dignity.

I am lost here guys. is this scarcasm or a joke? How did they do this with dignity.

As for has the AIA ever overtunred and the answer is yes. I gave a story a while back where Patagonia was allowed to keep their playoff hopes alive because the HC resigned from the team for the season and the AIA accepted that as good faith that they were taking responsibility and the team went on to win a state championship.

He means they didn't cry and moan about it, get one of their coaches/panhandlers to come on the boards and complain, and generally act like morons.

Rattay's track record probably isn't going to help the Chavez cause (unless the sacrificed him as was mentioned with the Patagonia coach). Whether he's guilty of recruiting or not, he was dismissed from Mesa High and Desert Visat by school adminstrators for improprities. I don't recall the circumstances for leaving Phoenix Christian, whether it was forced or by choice.

MrTinkerTrain it was down in tucson in all papers and they in fact did complain.

No offense but being hit with probation for recruiting shows no class no matter who does it. Still amazing that people already on probabtion still see fit to to think their situation is different.

In the end probation is probation and recruiting is recruiting. It hurts the kids.

Agree. Thus why the guilty should step down, putting the kids first.

Re: C. Chavez Appeal On Friday

The bottom line is that Coach Rattay won at Mesa, Desert Vista and Phoenix Christian. He is again winning at Chavez. No one forces parents to send their kids to any particular school and final choices are made in the home and by the parents not by administration or coaches.

If he is such a bad guy (as many of the posters here claim) why do so many people want their kid to play for him?

I have personally known Coach Rattay for years and in fact had an athlete son that was recruited by several name programs (no I am not going to narc anyone out as I believe athletes are free to play where they choose) and of all the programs the only coach that didn't push hard is Rattay. In fact he gave advice to the contrary.

How many posters on here know Coach Rattay personally? It is easy to cast aspersions, make accusations or make fun of a persons appearance (Rattay's eye patch) when hiding behind a screen name.  It is another to do so with facts and actual knowledge.

I wonder how many of the parents whose kids are SUPPOSED to be at Chavez are happy that he is there?

Since Coach Rattay was a winning coach at all of these schools why did he leave them?

Why is he not still at one of these schools you mentioned?

I do not know him personally.  I do know that he has had issues at all of these schools that led to him being replaced.

Article in the New Times sums it up well. He's obviously a hell of a coach and may be a great guy, but....
