Liberty/Ironwood Ridge was about as exciting as watching the paint dry. If liberty keeps running Tyler Wyatt like that, he may not be available for their section games. He took a pounding.

I'm not going to lie, I did like the new score tracker on our front page last night. Came in handy

It's a cool feature but definitely has some bugs to fix.  Someone reported Poston up 6-0 after first quarter.  But QC came on strong and held them to -6 points in the 4th to re-preserve the shutout.

Also the game featured the "Spartans" and "Sabercats" for mascots.  I believe the Queen Creek Sabercats were victorious.

Re: Tonight's Scores

Liberty had little issue moving the ball the entire game, but especially in the second half had difficulty finishing off drives-they had at least three series that half where they got inside the red zone, and they got all of a field goal out of those drives.  Wyatt's play backed-up a lot of my prior opinions on him (great arm but takes some risks) and he definitely has a "favorite" receiver (a guy he's going to target any time he gets the chance-this year it's Alex Jackson, or at least it was last night).  They racked up some good running stats but seemed more intent to pass it in once they hit the red zone.

Ironwood Ridge is tiny (a good 50% of their team is fortunate to be 5-8), but they still had a huge amount of success running the ball in the first half.  Liberty did put the clamps on them come the second half, but Ironwood Ridge is going to beat a lot of southern Arizona teams that lack the athleticism and discipline Liberty does (and I'm not convinced that Liberty can keep a bigger, more athletic opponent shut out on the ground for a full four quarters).

Re: Tonight's Scores

So I wonder how the scrimmage 2 weeks ago with QC, IWR, Hamilton went. Given it was a scrimmage, IWR in it close to Liberty and QC and Hamilton won Friday. Just makes me wonder who (if any) was the dominate team was in that scrimmage...
