Early debate on current commitments

The following players have committed to D1 programs:

Finton Connolly - DT Campo Verde - Committed to Arizona

Was the state's first 2015 commitment and shut it down very early, committing before his junior year was over. Very good junior film, plays with a high motor. Tore ACL in wrestling and will likely miss all/most of senior season. Three-star prospect on Scout.

Cade Cote - OL Williams Field HS - Committed to Arizona State

Recent commit and picked ASU over some big BCS names such as Oregon. Great technician but also plays with a nasty intentions. At 6-4, 275 pounds, likely will move inside in college. Three-star prospect on Scout.

Demetrius Flannigan - CB Tucson HS - Committed to Arizona

Performed well at UofA's camp, earned and offer and promptly committed. Long and rangy prospect that stands 6-3. Plays corner but his length gives him the versatility to play safety. Two-star prospect on Scout.

Jake Grant - OL Horizon HS - Committed to Utah

Offered by Utah as a junior and committed early. State's second player committed behind Connolly. Another player that plays tackle in high school but likely will move inside. Good size and good junior tape. Three-star prospect n Scout.

Brian Lewerke - QB Pinnacle HS - Committed to Michigan State

Had a breakout junior season and that led to offers from all over the country including the likes of Florida and Louisville, schools that don't recruit AZ much. Took an unofficial visit to MSU and committed shortly thereafter. One of the top prospects in the state and one of the top QBs on the West Coast, Lewerke has a strong arm, quick release. Currently a three-star prospect on Scout.

Steve Miller - OT Gilbert HS - Committed to Arizona State

Miller's recruitment took off during the Spring when coaches were able to see him in person. Raw junior film but as good looking a prospect as you will see in person. Technique has improved tremendously. Going to graduate high school early and enroll at ASU. Three-star prospect on Scout.

Bryce Perkins - QB Chandler HS - Committed to Arizona State

The epitome of a dual-threat QB. Perkins was known as an athlete playing QB prior to his junior year but fixed some flaws that proved he can play QB at a high level. Still needs to improve in some areas, specifically his motion. Committed to ASU early and has remained loyal to the program despite another QB pledging to ASU as well. Three-star prospect n Scout.

Jamison Pruitt - OT O'Connor HS - Committed to NAU

The state's most recent commit and a steal by the Lumberjacks. Good feet, good frame, near 4.0 student. Had multiple FCS offers as well as Air Force but wanted to be in Flagstaff. Currently a two-star prospect.

Dalton Sneed - QB Horizon HS - Committed to UNLV

Quite possibly had the best year of any player in Arizona last year. Video game like stats. Was offered by UNLV and committed because the Rebels had a few others on their board and he didn't want to be left out. Similar to Luke Rubenzer from last year in terms of stature. If he were 6-4, would have multiple FBS offers. Two-star prospect on Scout.

Keenan Walker - OT Chaparral - Committed to Arizona

The state's top OL prospect, Walker plays football like it's meant to be played, nasty. At 6-6, 290 pounds, Walker has NFL ability. Followed Chaparral teammate to UofA. Four-star prospect on Scout.

So who got the best prospect? Who is the biggest steal thus far? Which in-state school has done the best? Which prospect is most likely to flip before signing day?

Re: Early debate on current commitments

I would say right now Arizona may get the top pick with Walker.  ASU is a very close second with Bryce Perkins.  I would gamble Perkins ceiling could reach a little higher than Walker in terms of their influence on their respective teams.  Lewerke would be third going to MSU.

Jason, any chance Walker flips or is he pretty solid?  ASU picked up those 3 OL's recently and I wonder/hope he may feel the influence of things changing at ASU.

I don't see Walker flipping. But if he were to, I don't think ASU would be the school.
