nice list, but no hon mention tight ends?
Westview senior TE Ardis Palmer, 6-1, 250, had 14 catches, 301 yards, 3 TDs for Jeff Bowen; good blocking TE.
Sr Basha TE Bryce Brooks had 21 catches, 307 yds, 5 TDs for Bernie Busken's offense. Basha's Ronald Querry also could be considered a TE, though he lined up at WR too.
Jr. Highland TE Colin Gardner, had 6 TDs on a Highland team that overachieved.
Sr. Highland Safety Hunter Clancy had a nice year - had 4 INTs, 2 vs your D1 QB Kyle Allen before injuring his ACL.
Really like Nichols on OL list but my choice would have been to substitute Austin Hall for him or Marquez.

I would have added Rosales from Tucson to the honorable mention list though. Just an opinion.

I think Kelepi Fifita from Central should of been HM as well. He was voted D1 Section 1 Defensive player of the year by the coahes.

This mindset is another reason students look to play at other schools. A player's performance should stand on its own merit. If his coach and/or classmates are sub-par, that shouldn't disqualify him for honors or accolades. Let his game film be the judge. hunkiecooper wrote:

But if Kids did NOT go to other schools. Central would be a lot better. We have been losing kids to Slope, Saint Mary’s and BROPHY for Years. Just saying. Kids don’t understand It does not matter what high school you go to. If you are good colleges will notice you PERIOD................... |

An all state caliber player should stand out in a game, especially in this type game, and I have NO idea who this kid is. In the game in question St. Mary's had 634 yards in offense, and scored 10 TD's. How does anyone on that type defense expect to receive All State level recognition? Again that's not to say he deserves All State recognition, I'm just saying that in that particular game he stood out among the crowd. I did see some of the All State players in person and most of them stood out when seen in person with Nate Phillips (Basha) being the one that really impressed me, the kid is electric with crazy speed. |

I root for HS football players to do well and play at the next level. I will remain skeptical. Make sure you come on here next year and update us. I will be watching for your post. |

Great to see that he sparked some excitement with your program but don't get carried away. I certainly would keep pushing him to D1 coaches but don't tell him that. Will likely only end up disappointing him if/when it doesn't happen.

I like him. Good looking player. I agree he is a good DT, exactly what a DT should be disruptive and makes big plays here and there when he is free from covering his gap. Makes the plays to his gap consistently. Got to get these kids names out there as soon as the season ends. |

He will be getting some post season recognition, along with Melvin, Cunningham, Giannina, Zepeda, and Nappe
