Devonte Robinson Update!!

Devonte has finally been cleared and participated in his first practice this afternoon. He immediately was seeing reps with the 2nd team. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next two weeks.

I wish we could see him in the scrimmage. Might be a couple weeks before he hits his stride.

How soon can we expect to see Robinson see substantial minutes do you think? I would guess with him being this late in the game that even if he is really good we won't see him really for at least a month. Same with Moala, at this point won't be probalby end up redshirting anyways?

The coaches tried to work Robinson in as often as they could yesterday. He has a gear that our other WRs don't have. I was shocked at the speed he has, he is definitely a down field threat. With it being so late in camp and the earliest he can put the pads on is either Friday or Saturday, he may not see any action until Idaho State. There is the option of redshirting him but at this point it's way up in the air if that would actually happen.

With David Moala, if he finally gets cleared, he only has 2 to play 2 so he has to find a role in the rotation somewhere. But as a noseguard, his learning curve is much less information to absorb compared to Robinson's at WR. I know that the coaches would really prefer to redshirt Schuster and a third NG to add to the rotation to compliment Elvis Kamana-Matagi and Travis Seefeldt would be nice. Luckily Ricky Ali'ifua is also able to play the NG and he saw some practice time there Monday morning.
