BSU,BYU SDSU SMU Houston, Fresno, Reno UNLV New Mexico. Good fb league. Great BB league. Leave out Wy. CSU,  USU, SJSU Hawaii. Fill in with UTEP Idaho and NMSU and maybe others and you have two western leagues plus PAC 12. I think the Conf. USA is going to get hammered over the next two years.

I doubt Houston and SMU would have a lot of interest in this.

They would just go back to CUSA and keep their Texas/surrounding states rivalries unless there was going to be a major bump in television $$, which I don't see that Conference getting.

A great bball league without an autobid for any sport. Not going to happen.

The NCAA needs to let the mid major teams form new conferences and give them the auto bids.The gap is widening so give the little guys a better financial option regional conferences.Teams like SMU and Boise would be better off trying to dominate their region at their level.When a mid major gets to 10-0 or beats a BCS school they get attention like Houston last year.Boise loosing this year early means nationally no one care about them.The non big five conferences have very little chance of moving up in prestige .The MWC if they would have kept all the top teams and added Boise could have done it .The top mid majors having been scooped up just doesn't leave enough left.Connecticut or Boise the only chance they have is either ACC for UCONN or Big Twelve for Boise.Otherwise going 10-0 or 11-0 is the only way to get noticed.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened and the NCAA may look favorably on it since the WAC is basically history.  

I can't see UTEP joining a league without New Mexico, they were huge rivals in the original WAC and what about AFA?  

I could see (and would desire) seeing your leftovers make-up a MWC of WYO, CSU, NMSU, SJSU, HAWAII, IDAHO, USU, and add, up and coming Montana, Mont St., and UC DAVIS.  Eventually, I could see adding N. Dakota & UC Riverside for 12 and create a Sierra Mountain Division and a Rocky Mountain Division.

Sierra Mtn Division: SJSU, HAWAII, UC DAVIS, IDAHO, USU & UC Riverside

Rocky Mtn Division: WYO, CSU, NMSU, MONT, MSU, N.DAKOTA

The WAC still has a waiver...perhaps if they acted quickly enough they could make it happen...unlikely though
