Elie Wiesel to Romney, Mormons: Don't baptize dead Jews

So if there are questions about what is mormonism does anyone have any answers to this.  Will Romeny be leading mass baptisms of the dead: will he as president exhume the corpses of your loved ones who are not mormon for this sort of ritual?

Yeah I've heard that they baptize the dead when someone converts or if they found out they aren't Mormon... Very strange...

It is done by proxy.  People go to the temples and are baptized several times, each with the name of a deceased person.  Mormons believe you must be baptized as a Mormon to to acheive the highest level of heaven.  They go back through history looking up the names of people to allow them to proceed along the way.

Some Jewish leaders have protested this practice and the Mormon church has agreed to stop the practice as it applies to Jews.

Bodies are not exhumed.

Why does it matter? They are dead. They might as well baptise a stump or a bug that ran into a windshield. Dead people don't care because they are fricking dead and can't care because they are dead.

Well if Mormans performed  a posthomous gay wedding between my two dead grandfathers I doubt they would recognize it and kiss each other. These Morman baptisms are hocus pocus make believe fantasy and that is he world they live in. I find it humorous and I feel that I have been a great beneficiary of genealogical research because of their superstitions.  I do respect the dead by honoring their past the way they would have perceived it but how some odd balls posthomously baptise them does not offend me.

In  the ScrouisLouis  Church of Burros and Lizards I just baptised Section, Red Sox, and Banditio. I didn't wait until they died. I am sure their families are humiliated at their fantasy conversion which they should not because it is fantasy just like Morman baprtisms of the dead.

Sure they do. I have seen dead Jews as baptised in their genealogical records. Big deal since it is just a withcraft type of mumbo jumbo anyway.

By the way, welcome to the ScrouisLouis Church of Lizards and Burros. I just baptised you. I didn't want to wait until you die before I baptise you. Your life will be changed forever due to your new forced baptism.

When someone pisses on something there is wet, yellow, urine all over it. When a Morman baptizes dead people nothing really happens even if Mormans think something has. It is their fantasy and besides that they are fantisizing baptism on a dead person who no longer exists. Performing a make-believe baptism on a person who no longer exists is hilarious to me.  I could go yo jail for pissing on a Morman or a Morman grave but I can not go to jail if I do a make believe baptism on a dead Morman who no longer exists. The Mormans are really just pissin in the wind.

More distractions.  If Obama is elected will he force all churches to perform gay weddings?  Obama has said that Jesus told him that gay marriages were OK.  He also cited Jesus as a reason for increasing taxes.  These are trivial issues.  Our country is in deep kim chi.  Obama has proven incapable of resolving anything of import.  His biggest accomplishment was getting the dog.  It may be the only promise he kept.

I suppose the burial traditions of Native Americans and Muslims are also hilarious.  They are just as dead.  Or, is it that it is simply not politically correct to disparage the traditions of some, where Mormons are now fair game by the liberals?  Is it that the liberals and you will do whatever they/you can to keep their/your ineffective, divisive, failed leader from departing the White House - even if it means pissing on the dead?

Yes they are all silly (including my RC hocus pocus) but I respect all religions rights to be silly. You must not be reading my posts carefully because I was defending the Mormans doing fake baptisms on dead people. Liberals, Dems, and right-wing evangelicals who hate Mormans should not make thi an issue.

At least I believe in science unlike 50 % of Repubics.

I support his right only to force make-believe gay marriage on dead people.

For alive people it is a violation of seperation of church and state.  I may indeed be unconstitional for state governments, however, to ban gay marriages. I imagine someday that will be tested before the Supreme Court.

Sorry, I guess I was having problems reading between the, "Well if Mormans performed  a posthomous gay wedding between my two dead grandfathers I doubt they would recognize it and kiss each other. These Morman baptisms are hocus pocus make believe fantasy and that is he world they live in"  lines.   A great defense you got there.  biggrin

a 2009 survey done by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. In fact that survey identified a number of partisan divides on scientific questions. On biological evolution, the survey reported that 97 percent of scientists agree that living things, including human beings, evolved over time and that 87 percent of them think that this was an entirely natural process not guided by a supreme being. Some 36 percent of Democrats believe that humans naturally evolved; 22 percent believe that evolution was guided by a supreme being; and 30 percent don’t believe humans have evolved over time. The corresponding figures for Republicans are 23 percent, 26 percent, and 39 percent, respectively. http://reason.com/archives/201...ce-democrats-or

In reality according to this one poll - 97% of scientists agree that humans beings evolved over time - 70% democrats agree and 61% Republicans agree.  Thus, you will be comforted that more Republicans than not believe in some form of evolution.  We just also believe that a great deal of scientific research is corrupted by ideology;  that there are simply too many Al Gores pushing agendas in order to make millions.  And, that these same individuals DO NOT practice what they preach!!

Romney is  a Bishop in the Church. It means his religion matters. Don't want a Bishop of any religion running my country. I think he should pick one, but not both. Looks like we are one step from a Scientologist being our world leader
