Most Catholics do not agree with Santorum. He is extreme.

Unfortunately you are correct in that it does not appear the majority of Catholics even agree with certain of Santorum's positions.  However, having an extreme position or belief is not necessarily a bad thing provided it is not forced upon others.  Santorum does not appear to be forcing his birth control belief on others - as he has even voted to fund planned parenthood.  Additionally, as he stated last night - unlike the left - talking about social aspects of society does not mean a bill must be created to tackle it.

Again, my big issue is that I hate the social conservative dialog in which others are meant to feel lesser because of their activities and the manner they choose to live their lives.  I understand that poverty often resolves around single parent households with little education.  Address this problem by allowing more freedom of choice regarding schooling.  Allow a child to attend the best school he can while growing up and hopefully the tide can be turned.

But, get the hell out of everyone's activities behind closed bedroom doors.  Worry about an economy that stinks, gas prices that will only further burden a down economy, and defending our nation with more intelligence over more threats.  Seems to me - this gives plenty enough issues to address - especially considering the lackluster politicians that we have addressing them.
