Womens Basketball Recruiting

Is there any site where I could find out what prospects are interested in UW and which ones are UW  interested in. Just watched a few girls state games and was impressed by a number of girls, and was wondering if UW was interested in them or not.

Dennis Punzel wrote a story about their recruiting targets a few weeks ago. And yes, they're in on Samantha Logic.

There's a link within that story (left-hand rail) for "More on the recruits" as well.

That  was a great story about UW recruiting ,

it would have helped if ESPN had shown our game last week, the only people that knew UW had both our men and women teams in the NCAA are the small group of women fans here.

It was on here.  It wouldn't have helped much.

Where was it on? Everyone I talked to, with an array of different cable/satellite providers, said that ESPN2 carried the Vanderbilt-DePaul game in its entirety and Wisconsin-Vermont got no coverage at all.

I did hear someone say that they found the UW game on one of the 700 channels on DirecTV, but there was no way to know to look there. I did a search on the DirecTV guide when it wasn't on ESPN2 hoping to find an alternate listing, and came up with nothing.

On my Charter (Wisconsin) system the game was on ESPN2.  The game was NOT on ESPN2 HD on the same system.  It was my understanding that the non HD was able to show regional games but the HD version was locked in to one national game.

Re: Womens Basketball Recruiting

The Wisconsin/Vermont game was shown on ESPN2 only in Wisconsin and Vermont. DePaul/Vanderbuilt was shown in IL and TN....etc, etc.

There should have been more clarification on Badger web site before the game was telecasted.

Re: Womens Basketball Recruiting

we are in Janesville  ESPN2  did not show the UW-Vermont. Unless you  count showing couple sec's as they went to  time outs. We have Dir-tv. Did not know about being able to pay for the game using the 700 channels.

Re: Womens Basketball Recruiting

It was on one of the ESPN overflow channels. I do not normally get the 700 channels and did not pay for anything, but I got the game. I have no idea how it works, but it was free on my DTV system (also in the Janesville-ish area).

How did you know to look for it in the 700 channels?

At the bottom of the screen on ESPN2 it said that local games could be seen in ESPN2SD and so I searched and in th 700's all the alternate games were listed so I tried it and the game came on.

Well, I knew it was on someplace and I too followed the directions scrolling across the bottom of the screen.

For those of us still living in the age of cable it was the opposite.  The ESPN2 HD game scrolled that regional games were on ESPN to so I went to ch26

As a sidenote/request Mr Monitor, please head over to the football board and lock the post that just keeps draggin on over there.  I tried to have some fun with it but extremes from both sides of the politcial spectrum seem to have no time for humor.

I do not subscribe to Full Court, but it was on one of the Full Court Channels, 724 I think. I looked there because I knew games were there for sale (at $16 a throw), and lo and behold, it was on for free. I also watched the two GB games on those channels.

Ah, I see. I didn't get home from work until after 6 a.m. the night before the game, so I was too sleepy to pay attention to any scrolls. I woke up a little after tipoff, turned to ESPN2, saw Vandy-DePaul, and nodded back off. Woke up again, still Vandy-DePaul, and that's when I did a search through the DirecTV guide that turned up nothing.

Anybody know if that message was scrolling continuously or just intermittently?
