Henry Ellenson

Henry Ellenson

Reggie Rankin reports via Twitter that Ellenson's three choices are Kentucky, MSU and Marquette. No particular order.
"Nobody has defended (Ray) Rice. TGP and PH are trying to perpetuate a myth. They don't have a reading comprehension problem. They are simply idiots." - Kowitzc on 7/31/14 during a debate about domestic violence.

Been pretty clear that we were out of it for a while. Going to be hilarious if he actually goes to Marquette.

Re: Henry Ellenson

I hope he goes to Marquette, becomes a big star, and never makes the NCAA tournament. I hope he goes to Kentucky and  never starts a game. I hope he goes to MSU, gets homesick and quits halfway thru his first season, and then transfers to Marquette(see above).

Ok, i'm done with my rant.

Not losing any sleep over UW not landing him. That family has egos the size of Texas.

Re: Henry Ellenson

Whatever.  It's too bad we didn't get him, but it's not the end of the world.

I hope, in order, he goes to:

Kentucky
Markette
MSU

I got the shotgun....you got the briefcase......all in the game though

Re: Henry Ellenson

Would have loved to land him so I am not going to act like we dodged any sort of bullet with the family. I dont know them and have heard some of the negative stuff with them was overblown.  Cant fault the staff for not paying enough attention to him but for whatever reason he wants to go elsewhere.  His choice.

Didn't his father play for the Badgers?  You mean he would have been an issue?

I wouldn't bet on Henry staying at one particular school for long.  He transferred both in high school ball and AAU ball and his brothers and father have all transferred from D1 programs.

Re: Henry Ellenson

The old man played at Marquette and then transferred to UW.  I don't know the family, but have heard from Gopher fans that the family got way too involved with Wally's lack of PT during his time there.

The coaching staff obviously knew the ship on HE sailed weeks ago when they offered Esa Ahmad.

I hope he choose Marquette... it will be both a wonderful fit both culturally and with regards to style of play.

I wouldn't bet on Henry staying at one particular school very long either. I also wouldn't bet on him ever transferring .

What's your deal?  Potrykus acknowledged the source as being the one to break this news.  This is no different than ESPN providing watchers/listeners the source that broke the Manti Te'o story, for instance.

Next!

We missed out on a talented prospect with unique skillsets tailor fit for our system. Henry missed out on the chance for a world class education in a unique environment with a chance at early playing time.

Anxious to see how this class fills out. Sharma still seems realistic. Stone and Johnson remain possibilities. And Ahmad is obviously going to have a blast with Nigel showing him around campus.

Sharma, Stone, Ahmad, Pritzl, and Johnson would be unbelievable.......

Based on what?  Maymon was undersized for his position was a highly thought of but not true blue chip recruit and had a father with documented incidents that went well beyond basketball

Ellenson is ranked among the top 25 players in his class and top 4-5 at his position by most services, recently made a US national team and played very well and appears to have a family who is perhaps a little aggressive in looking out for this best interest.  Can you explain the comparison?

What style of play do you anticipate from the new coach?

One that makes Henry touch the ball on every single possession and starts Wally.

Not shocking UW didn't make the cut considering his goal is to play in the NBA. Bo and his staff don't have a good track record of developing guys to get to the next level.

Such stunning ignorance. As if pretty much every scholarship player at UW or any other major program doesn't have a goal of playing in the NBA. Difference is most at UW are also preparing themselves for other careers as well. Bo and his staff have an excellent track record of developing guys for the next level - so long as you're able to recognize that the "next level" can also mean something other than sports.

Engage the good posters, ignore the bad, report as inappropriate the problems. Message board rules. Thanks.

Oh, please. We would not be making such claims if he was interested in Wisconsin. We've known for a while that he wasn't coming to Wisconsin. But it still stings because his game seemed so well-suited to Wisconsin's style. Can't rationalize it, it stings that such a seemingly good fit from in-state wasn't interested.

Bo cooled on him. At least wish the home state kid the best no matter where he goes.
