If Sam leaves after this year??

If Sam leaves after this year??

And he should if he's a projected lottery pick, who starts in 2015 / 16?

Bronson and Nigel will be 1st or 2nd team all B1G guys so that's a good starting point - others:

Bronson
Dearring or Hill or Showy
Nigel
Brown
Happ (Stone, Ellenson or Sharma)

Man, PT is there for 1 or 2 of the highly touted bigs.

Re: If Sam leaves after this year??

A lot of front court unknowns at this point.  Knowns are Hayes, Happ, and Brown.  Possibles who would be part of the rotation if here are Dekker, Sharma, Ellenson, and Stone.  Assuming somewhat negatively that we have one of those four, front court starters could be that player plus Hayes and probably Happ.  Shooting guard up in the air between Showalter, Dearring, Hill, and Pritzl.  May see three guards some of the time unless we have two of the four front court possibles I listed above.  That would give us a nice five man front court rotation.

With the players we have now - the starters in 2015-2016 will likely be...

PF: Hayes
SF: Happ or Dearing
C: Brown
SG: Showalter or Hill
PG: Koenig

YOur thoughts?  I think they need to bring in more talent!

Hayes
Brown
Happ
Dearing
Koenig

But I would expect a couple of Frosh big guys to potentially be in the lineup.

That lineup keeps the top 4 streak going - one or more of the big 3 and we're on to bigger things.

I believe in Riley, but Pritzl might be difficult to keep off the floor. I could see him being a Gasser type.

I think he's more of a Brust type only a little taller.  Hopefully he brings the same kind of hustle that Ben brought to the table and maybe a little more consistency with his stroke.

Re: If Sam leaves after this year??

I think he just meant that he could play a lot of minutes as a freshman, like Gasser. As far as playing style, Pritzl and Gasser have little in common.

Re: If Sam leaves after this year??

Yeah, mostly meant the playing time/possibly starting (if Dearring/Hll don't develop into starter material). Is a Pritzl/Matt Thomas comparison a valid one? That's one I had in mind.

Re: If Sam leaves after this year??

For the 2015 class Bo hasn't exactly been going after SF guys very hard, which makes me hope that he feels Dearring and Happ could fill the void at the 3 that Sam would leave.  In my opinion (and at this point so far in advance), those are the two whose minutes would probably directly  increase the most if Sam left early.

With Sam:
Koenig
Showy/Hill/Dearring/Pritzl - in no order; who knows how these guys will look like next year
Dekker
Hayes
Brown/freshman

Without Sam:
Koenig
Showy/Hill/Dearring/Pritzl
Happ/Dearring - in no order
Hayes
Brown/freshman

I don't make internet bets, but I will for this one.

If Dekker leaves after this year, I bet that the Badgers will still be in the 2016 NCAA tournament.  You bet that they won't.

Name your punishments/rewards of the bet and we can go from there.

Good list - if Sam returns and we get Stone and or Elleson, we're looking at another top 5 finish.

Dekker a draft pick this season? Now, that is quite an assumption! Good on him (and us) if that happens but I wouldn't be betting the house and car on it happening at this point.

Re: If Sam leaves after this year??

Yes. Sam is far more valuable and important than every player that has ever left the program. Please Sam, don't go early and ruin Bo's consecutive NCAA tourney run.

Latest ESPN draft article I read had him around pick #18 in the 2015 draft.

Didn't take long for Dekker's biggest lover and hater to both be offered bets.

tmoney don't know what your deal is, but sam dekker is the best player to ever play for bo ryan. the best player to ever play for the badgers, the best player to ever play in the big ten and aurguably the best player ever to play the college game.

losing him is going to put the program back years and years.
