RE: Michigan vs. Michigan State
You'd think it's pretty cut and dry that we should root for Michigan in this one. MSU is a game up, and we've got the tie breaker with Michigan.
But looking at their schedules, this is probably the most lose-able game left for Michigan. Their other two tough games are both at home (MSU and IU).
MSU, meanwhile, still has IU and UW at home, and has to go on the road to OSU and UM. More chances for losses in their schedule than Michigan's.
Tough decision on who to root for.

Re: Michigan vs. Michigan State
I want Michigan St. to win. After Tuesday, Michigan only has Indiana & MSU of the upper tier, both at home. Tuesday night could possibly be the last loss for Michigan.
MSU, however, still has 4 games against upper tier teams after Tuesday night (@Michigan, @OSU, Indiana & Wisconsin). There are still some land mines for MSU to step around.
If you think the home team will win most games, like I do, then you will want MSU to win.

Michigan, MSU has had too many punks over the years.

Think anyone can beat anyone anytime at any place this year. MSU is ahead of us, I want them to lose. Maybe I'll root for Sparty on the rematch, but for now Go Blue!

In theory, we should probably root for Michigan State, given we still play them and can hand them another loss (although unlikely, at East Lansing).

Re: Michigan vs. Michigan State
I want at least of a Big 10 title. Michigan has a less challenging schedule the rest of the way than MSU. I will be looking for MSU to win. As stated above. Wisconsin can take care of the Spartans themselves the final week.

Michigan.
And I'd rather have them w/the conf than MSU . . . losing by 2 at home while going 7-18 from the stripe still kills me.
Go Badgers! On Wisconsin!

Re: Michigan vs. Michigan State
If the goal is a Big Ten Title, despite Michigan State being a game ahead, it's in our best interest for them to beat Michigan. The Wolverines' schedule was heavily front-loaded, and they don't have too many great chances of losing left after this game. The Spartans, meanwhile, have plenty.

Does a MSU victory guarantee us a B1G title?

I don't care either way. I hate the Izzo Floppers more than anything but I like seeing Michigan in the rear with the gear.

But pretty much any scenario starts with an MSU win tonight. It absolutely guarantees nothing, but it's the only way to start IMO. If Michigan wins tonight, I don't see them losing 4 and it'd be hard to see any way they lose 5. And Wisconsin does control their own destiny for a tie for the title btw. I think they'll lose 5 though.

RE: Michigan vs. Michigan State
MSU winning is best for Wiscosin winning a share of the big ten. In general a win by a contender on the Road is bad for you. Michigan has two tough games left after this year, home vs MSU and home vs IU. They will be favored in both. If they win tonight at most they lose 1 more and will be favored in all their games. MSU, while a game ahead of Michigan and us has road trips to Michigan and Ohio State. While they also have home games vs us and Indiana. Even with a win tonight you would figure there is a good chance of at least 2 losses remaining there. So for tonight I hope Michigan loses.

Our chance of winning the Big Ten Title, while much greater than a few weeks ago, is still small. There's no doubt that as thing stands now, an MSU victory tonight is more likely to benefit us than is a U-M victory. However, it's not set in stone, and it's possible we could look back a couple weeks from now and realize we were rooting for the wrong team. There are still scenarios in which we can win the title after a U-M victory tonight. The most obvious ones are winning out while IU loses one game, or losing one game the rest of the way while IU loses two games but beats U-M on the road.

Game's under way. I'm sticking with my thought that MSU winning helps UW.
Early 6-4 lead for the Spartans.

RE: Michigan vs. Michigan State
One thing is for sure...against MSU, if they play us like they are Michigan, T-Jack better work on a helluva lot crisper of a pass! MSU is draped all over UM and jumping into the passing lanes like nobodies business.
Edit: Honestly, without an epic collapse at home, MSU should continue to run away with this game, up 16 with 2:50 left in the 1st.
