that game was about as dreadful as the last but taking the W makes it seem 100% different.

Mr. Potato Head Offense: Gophers Game
The Badgers pull out a 45-44 win over their virtual twin from Minnesota, featuring a nice game from Sam Decker and, I dunno, I guess you call that offense. Nothing actually working as a whole but individuals occasionally showing up. What is it, just really good defense by both teams?

As a Badger fan living in Minnesota this is pretty great. Two weeks ago they were talking about the Gophers in the Final Four and now they are talking about firing Tubby Smith! It is great

At least we're not this bad: http://espn.go.com/mens-colleg...points-1st-half
Big win, even if it wasn't pretty. We'll have to play much better against OSU next game if we want to win in Columbus again.

RE: A wins....a wins....A win!
Huge win. Only need to go 5-6 the rest of the way to make dance. Maybe 4-7 with a B10 conference tourny win.
But to keep that top-4 finish or better streak alive, we will need to get one of the 2 road games coming up. Should be a 50/50 proposition. Ohio State is good, but we get Bruiser and Evans to take DeShaun Thomas out of the game and that's their best offense. And Illinois probably is questioning if they can beat UW after the woodshed they saw in Madison. Big Win despite a very poor game from Jackson (59 minutes), Evans, Jared, and Bruiser.

I would be tempted,if I were the coach,to call out Mbakwe. He is a faker.

Abdel Nader got a look from out staff (if I'm remember correctly) and the two wisconsin kids Bowie and Mader both got looks. They also have the Grey twins who played with Marshall all 4 yrs in HS.

RE: Mr. Potato Head Offense: Gophers Game
Very good defensive that is able to be played to such a high degree because both teams know only one or two guys on the court (Andre Hollins and Dekker) can beat anyone off the dribble. The rest of the guys can be bodied up without much concern for a blow by. Don't think that same D would work on teams like Louisville or Michigan but I guess we shall see in the Wolverines case

Agreed! To at least not get a split out of this homestand would have been devastating for Wisconsin. And I'm not sure what it says about the Seniors when Wisconsin's two best offensive options for the day are Sam Dekker and George Marshall, both Freshman.

Re: A wins....a wins....A win!
It's college basketball this year. No time for guys who are afraid to compete.
Badgers outrebounded Minnesota on the offensive end, which is saying something.
Not pretty, but I don't care at all. FTs still a huge problem. Missed 2 front ends in secdon half. Lost the TO battle and still won. 52 possession game.

RE: A wins....a wins....A win!
I dont plan on that happening, but taking Thomas out of the game is holding him to around 13-15. The rest of that team is really struggling to do much of anything without pounding the offensive glass. Bruiser seems like a guy who could give you 20 very high energy, pesky minutes on Thomas. That's all I'm saying. jpompo wrote:

Not exactly deserving of a win but will certainly take it. Someone put out an APB for Berggren and say he's wanted in the paint. I would rather see Evans jacking threes at this point than him.
He was out played by Eliason.

Another horrible game from Evans - leading scorer, leading rebounder, 3 assists, 3 offensive boards, 0 fouls.
Can't wait for that loser to graduate.

Is it enough to crack the top 25? Honestly I don't know. Going 1-1 against ranked teams but the gophers are fading like Illinois. If I were voting I would say no.

I am not sure what the heck is going on with Berrgren. Bruiser is what he is. Plays hard, but to expect much from him offensively is really wishing. Evans played pretty well and a little more within himself(except for the three). Just really disappointed with Berrgren's play.

RE: A wins....a wins....A win!
I won't be shocked if we aren't but let's consider that the teams we are tied with or currently a game behind in conference are ranked 2, 7, 13, and 14 with the likelihood of all of them possibly moving higher. 5-2 in this conference with a win at the number 2 team in the country is a pretty solid case IMO MUnertl wrote: Is it enough to crack the top 25? Title this tape how not to take advantage of getting into the bonus three minutes into a half.

That foul call was fortunate. Berggren played like he was asleep. Evans is Evans. Say what you will about Trae, but he's not afraid to take big shots. We'll see about any injury update re: Mbakwe.

Re: A wins....a wins....A win!
Honest question: UW got into the double bonus with about 10 minutes left in the game (Sam missed the front-end on common foul 9). They didn't shoot another FT until Evans brutalized two attempts with 90 second left in the game.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Defensively they played great. No real breakdowns. A few misses, but mostly they played defense very, very well as expected. Great rebounding.
Offensively. Ugh. Ugh. Ugly.
