Sam

It's time. You are, by far, the best offensive option. Insteading of deferring to the 3 seniors, who can't get it done, start being more assertive on O!!! You on the bench at the end of the games is justbangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead!!!!

Dekker

Can someone in the know, please explain to me why our BEST offensive weapon, and probably our BEST passer was not in the game at the end when we needed points?  It doesn't pass the smell test, and please don't tell me he's not earning time because of his defense.  I mean, guess you can tell me that if that's the reason, but Bo needs to cut his stubborn not playing freshman Bull**** out, particularly when he leaves T. Jackson and Ryan Evans out there laying brick after brick after brick.

Re: Dekker

I'm a huge fan of Dekker's and always want him to play huge minutes, but I don't really agree with this point tonight. He wasn't assertive in the slightest and basically just stood in one spot out on the wing.

Re: Dekker

He attacked the basket and was called for a charge. He made a perfect past to the post only to have his teammate double pump and turn a layup into lousy free throw attempts.

Dekker needs to shoot more than twice in every game, especially when the offense sputters. The fact he was in for the last 3.5 seconds but not the last three minutes is a head scratcher.

I think Sam will be a very good player, but he has a lot of learning to do, i agree this point isnt very valid. However, maybe one can say that isnt isnt agressive knowing he will see the bench if he does something dumb...unlike 5th yr seniors who dont in similar situations.

Yep, he was back to floating way too much tonight.

Its not a head scratcher if you have followed this team under Bo Ryan.

Yeah,I love Bo but he mishandled the situation. Saying that,Dekker needs to be more aggressive himself.

RE: Sam

It's hard to be aggressive when you get yanked quickly, while you can watch your senior leader(s) jack up bad shot after bad shot and have no consequences. Bo is not a coach that enables aggressiveness in freshmen.

RE: Sam

Can he hit a pullup 2pointer? UW needs someone who doesn't just rely on 3s to end scoring droughts.

RE: Sam

If I am Diamond Stone or any other super talented Frosh, UW simply wouldn't be a place I would go, the constant quick hook on the young players while 5th year seniors struggle mightily with no repercussions is ridiculous.

We held MSU to 4 points over the final several minutes. That was a product of the defensive team on the floor. We were in a position to win the game. Bo can't make FT's for these guys. But he had the right players on the floor to win this game.

Could not agree more.  Dekker needs to be turned loose.  What we saw tonight was ridiculous.

No he didn't or they would have won, that is a stupid comment.

Has Dekker shown that he can finish against top defenses in practice? Might have to grow some before he's ready to step i to the role some have pegged for him.

I agree. He didn't do anything special all night.

Somebody has gotta turn off the magnet that keeps pulling Sam toward half court. Nothing good happens when you're 35 feet away from the basket

RE: Sam

Marshall earned more minutes tonight in my opinion. Ran the offense well, placed Great defense (for a change) and hit a clutch 3 to keep UW in it. Sams D is still lacking but he needs to play more than 13 minutes.
Although Evans' D tonite was phenomenal.

Re: Dekker

But others played great post defense, rebounded well, and played good defense in general. Dekker did not do these things. He picked up two fouls in what, 4 minutes, including one very foolish charge. I love Dekker, but he was not the answer tonight.

it would be nice if Dekker didn't catch the ball 30 feet from the basket and pass it right away. If he's going to do that there is no point in being out there

RE: Sam

This is the way I see it. I love Bo, think he is a great coach but when Evans shoots a 3, a fadeaway, or a jumper off the dribble he is allowed to stay in the game.

When Sam shoots a tough shot, he is pulled. Making him less agressive offensively. Now if Sam took the shots Evans took tonight he would not have went 2-12 in my opinion.

I understand Evans is a good defender and rebounder but maybe Bo should start to pull him each time he takes a bad shot (and there are not many good shots for him) to make him less agressive on offense because I am sick of him leading this team in shots most nights.

RE: Sam

Tonight Dekker was pulled for committing two fouls in 4 minutes, including one really dumb foul. He was his own reason for having to sit.

I agree, tonight. Still don't like Evans leading the team in shots tonight though.

Didn't say he was. I would say though that 13 minutes is pretty low, especially with how bad they were shooting.

Yeah,I agree. To a point. However, what I hate is the lack off accountability when others maje bad mistakes. Remember the awful early to's of Bruiser? Terrible shot selection by Jackson and Evans? I mean it sometimes seems like their is a different standard or something. Again,I am not one that syas EVANS SUCKS or this and that. Just think 13 minutes when you can't make a shot is pretty poor. Or only holding one player accountable for mistakes made. Plenty were made out there besides Dekker.
