Iowa at UW
What will it take to win this must win game?
We play solid on defense and Iowa won't stand a chance at the Kohl Center. We just don't win when playing solid defense at KC. I see Iowa getting out to an early lead on and establishing some momentum, but the grind of Bo Ryan defense eventually squelches whatever momentum they can get.
We need points per possession. Typically this means banging it down low, and if Frank and JB can bring it then lets play it, but taking 3's like there's no tomorrow isn't a bad game plan in my opinion. Get the open looks and let Brust take his shots. If JB can pound it against their freshman C then he could put up 15-20 and secure the W for us.
Looking forward to this game, needs to be a major reset for UW and while the W is most important, playing hard nose defense in the middle of B10 play is just beneath the W.
I believe the Badgers will take this game and would be very disheartened if they lost. Coming up, we got Michigan, Goofers, then OSU. Need a win going into that stretch.
Let's go Red!

RE: Iowa at UW
If we get half as much out of Frank as he gave us vs. Illinois, we'll be in good shape in this and all the rest of our games.
Let's stop this little three game skid vs. the Hawkeyes.

There's one of Jackson's inexplicably lazy passes. Does he have to do that once or twice EVERY game?

Badgers looked sloppy, mostly Jackson...Both teams look like they will have trouble hitting the bottom of the net. One bucket but no made baskets thus far

Not a bad start. Need to shore up the defense when we switch on screens though.

I like Evans play so far, bringin it to the hoop and drawing contact. Not settling for the outside shots when he is clearly more athletic than his defender.

RE: Iowa at UW
two turns by TO Jax in 3 trips and he has the gall to blame it on JB for doing something wrong? Ok. Not really his fault though...kid has no business being a starting PG in the big ten. Solid 4th combo guard on a 25 win team though.

why were we given the ball after we made the shot to make it 5-4?

RE: Iowa at UW
that missed layup by Dekkers simply tells me what I already know...the game is just a tick too fast for him right now. Once it slows down a bit, he could be real good.

Badgers playing quicker and more confident than usual. Like seeing it.
Iowa seems to hit shots against the Badgers that they don't hit in other games I watch them play

That was a good shot early in the shot clock by Jackson, and good recognition that he was wide open, but he really rushed that. He had plenty of time, and that's his sweet spot.

Bruiser doesn't do it often, but when he's one on one down low, that little turn around hook is usually money.

I feel like we don't play well on either end against Iowa. We stone everyone else defensively except them.

Defense needs to pick up... I also didn't like Frank taking that shot with 3 guys on him down low.
Just need to play a little smarter here.

May have to hope Iowa poops their pants at the end like they did at Minnesota. Can't seem to build any kind of a lead. Would be nice if they stopped the careless turnovers.

Nice little 90 second sequence there. Two great defensive possessions, two wide open threes, and two offensive rebounds by Berg (with one getting put back).

LOVE the pace the past few minutes. Not fast, but not toss it around for 30 seconds. Agressive. been whining about that all year with this team.

Why do they not call any of the shoves/body fouls on Iowa? They are CONSTANTLY pushing on rebounds, cuts, and the ball handler. Berggren literally can't walk anywhere on the court without Woodbury shoving him.

Berggren literally can't walk anywhere on the court without Woodbury shoving him. Even on his last offensive board, I thought he was pushed. To be fair, I like when they let them bang a little down low, as long as they're consistent and they don't let anything too crazy go.

Evans game vs. Illinois, and his game today has been much more under control. He did take one tough contested shot, but that was with the time running down. Other than that, he's taken good shots and gotten into the paint. And I haven't seen any pump fake-pump fake-contested jumpers yet.
