Krenwick Sanders and Jeremy Patterson to visit Florida

Krenwick Sanders and Jeremy Patterson to visit Florida

Just saw this on multiple sites. From the interview with their High School head coach it sounds like Florida has a lot of work to flip the two but I do not like to see that these two are taking another visit. Would be two huge losses. I personally feel from the highlight films that I have watched (so admittedly not a good barometer) that Krenwick was going to be our best WR in this class

This late in the season and no other activity = not a very good sign at all.

Reading between lines people somewhat in the know seem worried.

Could just be 2 friends going on a paid trip together. Maybe they are interested in Florida.

Nobody really knows but we will find out in a couple of weeks.

Hopefully seeing early playing time at Wisconsin will win out in the end.

This would really suck. I'm as excited about these guys as anyone in the class.

I think we'll see how worried we should be if we see the staff scramble to GA to do damage control.

Are people getting how little programs like Wisconsin enjoy this "I'm committed but...." attitude that kids put them through? It keeps them on edge, wastes money, wastes valuable time and in most cases its just because the kid likes the attention, not because the the school he first committed to was any less than he first imagined.

From what I have read there will be in home visits with the two shortly. Our HC will be going to these meetings. I don't know if you would call that scrambling or just trying to sure up the commitment

Fact is, the kids want to be shown the love.  It is what it is, and as fans and alumni, you just have to roll with it.

Well with the way GA and his staff [or at least claim to be] you would think that wouldnt be an issue here.
We have kids here from florida who have weathered the winters in madison and stayed for all the right reasons , education #1, but it will be very difficult to get as many southern kids to come to THE UW as GA wants.  I will be happy and pleasantly surprised if that happens but.........
Sooner or later he will have to realize that recruiting north of the mason-dixon line is where he needs to be.

Let the kids visit every school they want... they don't get to make this decision twice (generally speaking).

Or Coach Andersen seals the deal with Sanders and Patterson and they, along with D.J. Gillins, Austin Hudson, Natrell Jamerson, Caleb Kinlaw, Taiwan Deal, and Chris Jones turn into a solid class of recruits that further solidifies UW's presence south of the Mason-Dixon line.
Sure...I'll take a look.

The definition of the word "commitment" seems to be quite elastic these days.

No one seemed to question Kinlaw's character when he flipped to Wisconsin.

Dareien Watkins, TJ Edwards, Micha Kapoi, Jacob Maxwell, Caleb Kinlaw, Beau Benschewal  all decomitted from other programs.
Guess they're all bad kids.
Additionally we're trying to get a bunch of other kids to decomit as we speak.

Nothing wrong with it until signing day.

Losing these 2 would be a huge blow to this class.  Sanders is my favorite of the WR commits, and Patterson fills a huge position of need where we are losing bodies.  I think these 2 will still end up at UW, as I think they see the early opportunity in front of them, plus they both seemingly love CGA and staff.  But if you guys want UW to pick up the recruiting pace, the fact is we're going to have battles like this every year.  Potential difference makers like these cats will be recruited late in the process, especially from schools that are more considered "home" schools.

Actually aren't there three UW "commits" going to Florida this weekend?

Agreed it should also be noted I'm not positive either guy is a take right now for Florida.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.  It's pretty obvious what Larry was trying to get across.  Badger fans are being hypocritical questioning kids character for taking other visits when practically half of our class were flips!

If the kids are telling people they are committed, then they are being dishonest.  If not, then the recruiting nerds like Evan Flood should not report them as committed.

Doesn't mean programs like it. They do not! They want the kids to commit when they are firmly committed. Essentially, they would like that commitment to mean something. Because kids flip, programs have to flip others, and waste valued resources over an extended period of time.

I'm somewhat surprised flipping has turned into a free-for-all in recent years.  Flipping has always happened, but from the Badgers' point of view, it seems it usually happened earlier in the recruiting season (I don't have the numbers, just my perception).  Recalling the Albert Young situation, part of the reason BA was furious was because he flipped so late in the process.  Probably didn't help he went to a rival, but I vividly remember hearing about Barry's anger about the situation.

It's all apart of the recruiting game.  No one likes it but no one likes losing bowl games because a lack of playmakers either.  Unfortunately when you're recruiting athletes the caliber of Sanders and Patterson you're gonna have other schools fighting to get them as well.  You can do two things:   You can either give up and recruit a lesser prospect that won't flip or you can fight for these guys.
