Tanner McEvoy - 1/29

Tanner McEvoy - 1/29

Someone on the Julian thread was wondering which "big name" quarterback is visiting next week.  According to Rivals McEvoy is visiting on 1/29.  More than likely that is who they are referring too.

Visiting on a Tuesday?  It is too late for Jucos to enroll for the semester?

Re: Tanner McEvoy - 1/29

He can't enroll as he needs to finish one more lab to graduate.  Lucky for us otherwise he would have already committed to Oregon or West Virginia.

This would be a big win if we could get him.  He has three offers from strong programs (Oregon, West Virginia, Wisconsin).  Arkansas and Texas have also show interest.  Based on the programs after him I am thinking he is pretty good.

Re: Tanner McEvoy - 1/29

Oregon's backup QB transferred out of the program a few days ago...but their starter is a solidly established sophomore.  Badgers probably make more sense if he wants a chance to start.

Kid is 6'6. Can run. Strange looking release. But a rocket arm. Reel em in coach!

Re: Tanner McEvoy - 1/29

Interesting youtube video...He only played quarterback one year on high school.  The first video is his junior year when he played Wide Receiver.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGYyH8wBsQc

This second one is his senior year when he played QB.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsbq7uS1Gpc

Dude is athletic and Spurrier recruited him to play QB.  I thin that says a lot about his potential.

After reading that article, it sound like they think he's theirs if they want him. WI has 5 qb scolies but only Houston is the only legit read-option. So, if TM wants his best shot with a big time program, WI would be the place to go.

According to Rivals the only offers and high interest are from Wisconsin, Oregon, and West Virginia.  Texas and Arkansas do not seem to have made an offer.

Get this kid, he's a HOSS! Alot further along than the qb headed to Toledo(now it makes sense as to why he chose toledo and "canceled" his visitcool

Perfect compliment to Stave in 2013 as he will be a faster CP in the red zone and funky throwing motions are overrated with this type anyway.

Does West Virginia have anything promising at QB now that Geno Smith is headed to the NFL?  They toss it around a lot more and they are a lot closer to his NJ home.

Tanner McEvoy (S Carolina) and Pat Martin (Tennessee S) are teammates at Arizona Western College...didn't realize that.

He won't be brought in to be a compliment. He'll be brought in to compete for the top spot. GA says he wants one QB.

It's kind of like a Tony Romo flick of the wrist. I like.

He can run the read.

Re: Tanner McEvoy - 1/29

So McEvoy is the "big time" QB, well that remains to be seen.  Seems like he can develop into one.
Could be McEvoy and Martin could both sign sometime in February and enroll for the fall.   Anyone know if Martin will be here next week too?

Martin said he would plan a visit if UW offered a scholarship.  UW hasn't offered yet.  Article on Martin makes him sound very interested in playing for the UW DC.

Thanks for that update.
I seem to recall other Martins who played at Tennessee, so he comes from good lines,if related.  Sure would be nice to see him play for the UW.

Your brother, stl, might disagree with you on that. Funny how weak mechanics are only weak mechanics if the recruit goes to another school.

Throws like a pitcher. Hopefully they can clean that up and get him more over the top and he throws off his back foot a lot. He needs to learn to step towards his target when he throws it will help with his accuracy.

WV should be tough competition considering how well Smith played and Holgo's reputation as an offensive mind.  However, nobody from Jersey would ever consider Morgantown to be "close," so that shouldn't hurt UW.

Wouldn't know. What do you think? You're there more than I. Nor do I know that MY bro is ever on this board. And he IS a bigger "insider" than anyone here.

anyone know or want to reasonably guess why? Grades? Of all the JUCO inquiries, Martin's film impressed me the most.

I guess thats why you and posse knew nada about things from Paul Chryst in Austin to GA being the front runner. Yea, you guys are real "insiders" all right?bored1  Tell you what, please go to another message board(five that I know of)

You can get your ass k-ssed/protected 24/7 like a few other "insiders"rolleyes  as they think siting in a barka lounger in Central wis and knowing ex staff members gives them a MODERN day insight( I doubt they have nver put the gear on or coached one who has in 15 years).

OH and one other thing, 2 excellent posters have encouraged me to put you on "ignore" These guys are not who you think they are.  In fact, one seems to be pretty tight with all things UW.

I'll let you figure out why they asked me to do that, ok? Did you get

Ah, please tell me what MODERN day insights you have, oh inflated one. You provide only windy day dreams full of hot air to this board. Please put me on "ignore". I'd love you to. In fact, I've told you often, when you and your "bros" stop, I'll stop.

As far as others, hey they can to as far as I'm concerned. But You ARE NOT running me off this board like you have others. Deal with it!
