QB - Michael Julian
I know everyone seems to want a QB in this cycle and it looks like GA is on a QB he was recruiting at USU.
I like the kids measurables but don't know a whole lot other than that. Anyone have anything special on this kid? Any videos?
Go Bucky!

Re: QB - Michael Julian
Here are his junior highlights. He seems to have a solid arm. His footwork is shoddy but the video is also a year old so I'm not sure how much that is worth.

www.hudl.com/athlete/1289454/highlights/15373386This is a longer video. Not getting my hopes up but this film really excites me. Could be a big time sleeper IMO

Re: QB - Michael Julian
Quick release and live arm. I know it is a highlight video but he seems incredibly accurate throwing on the run as well. Not an expert by any means but he looks like Stave with a quicker release and a little more mobility.

Re: QB - Michael Julian
Question is... can he put 35-40 lbs on? 180 and 6'5", that's lite for BB.

Shhhh, nobody let on that we like this kid. Otherwise, BB or Oscar Meyer might get in on him!-)

Re: QB - Michael Julian
Seems like a bit of a project with some nice upside for sure.
I wonder how our 2014 QB verbal will feel about this, given that Stewart is a pro style guy and Andersen is targeting a spread type qb.

Stewart will likely have many conversations with GA about his fit.

This had crossed my mind but arn't most top QB recruits use to D1 schools taking a QB every cycle? Buckysdorsalstripe wrote: Seems like a bit of a project with some nice upside for sure.

RE: QB - Michael Julian
GA mentioned that he wants to use some option with his offense. After seeing this kids videos I think he would be a great combo of being a pocket passer (6'5") and an option QB (4.40).
Add to the fact that UW isn't starting cold with Julian since he's already had a visit to USU.
I also think Houston will be great with this combo but you can never have too many tall QBs who can run and throw.
Go Bucky!

Re: QB - Michael Julian
Pretty impressive. Moved pretty well and was accurate on the move. Liked the way he acted like he had been in the endzone and gave the ball back to the refs.

Re: QB - Michael Julian
He looks very impressive, his throwing motion reminds me of Randall Cunningham. I find it hard to believe he is an under the radar recruit.

Article above says he's like a taller Russell Wilson. Who the heck would want that?

I would love to see this guy run the option a few times.

Who the heck would want that? I don't really see it. Seems more a cross between Usain Bolt and Joe Montana. Or maybe more accurate to say he's a cross between Roger Clemens and a cheetah... In all seriousness, kid looks good. Put on a little weight and he's got the size, speed, arm combo to work with...

Re: QB - Michael Julian
He certainly does not look like he runs a 4.4 and his arm strength is very suspect based on the video. However, at 6'5" and a slight 180 he could be a much faster and stronger player 3-4 years from now.

The kid already throws it infinitely better than Curt Phillips ever will. And he just played an entire game in the Rose Bowl.

Re: QB - Michael Julian
That's what I was reminded of- some of the pump fakes, his evasiveness, and throws on the run brought back memories of Russell. Arm strength seems fine, and he's definitely quick enough. Yes please! --------------------------------------------- --- NCBadger wrote: Article above says he's like a taller Russell Wilson. Although he's nothing like RW, I'd like to get a guy like this on the roster.

Colin kaepernick looked like this at 18 years of age. I think kaepernick is faster but the physical comparisons are there.

RE: QB - Michael Julian
Glad to hear Andersen is already on a QB in this cycle. We cannot afford to continue skipping cycles at the position and reaching for transfers. He needs to add about 25 lbs. and will require development. Looks to be a very good fit for who Wisconsin is.

RE: QB - Michael Julian
I'd have no problems with offering the kid. Worst case he flames out at qb but with his height and speed it's any easy conversion to wr, another position of need. The transition from qb to receiver seems to be the easiest move to make and I can name a dozen former hs qb's that ended up in the NFL as a receiver. Marvin McNutt is the most recent example.

RE: QB - Michael Julian
Well I guess GA can recruit places other than the West.
I thought his arm strength was adequate. Some throws didn't look that good, but on others he seemed to have plenty of arm. His throwing motion needs a little work but it's not bad. Not sure he as fast as advertised, but he has great body control and shiftiness for such a long, lanky guy. He's certainly more than "fast enough".
