"UW adds big piece to 2013 class: Bret Bielema and his Wisconsin coaching staff beat out one of the top programs ..."

Were we fighting for him?  Thought we were the only ones on him.  Calls the new verbal a big one.  Dawson???

I take that back... the Tweets don't make it sound like a Juco.

A little odd they are the only ones reporting it.  No noise from anywhere else.

Wasn't there some chatter about Monty Nelson being close to committing?

Rumors are Tyler Foreman. Oklahoma is the big program supposedly. Still not verified however.

RE: New Verbal??

It would make sense that its foreman. Since he is decided and announcing on Saturday. If it is... that is a huge get for bucky!

Why would that come out today if he isn't committing until Sat? If he told them but asked them to wait, too bad they didn't follow through.

I would guess Foreman. If so, Andy Buh deserves a huge raise. Not only has he gotten great play from the LB's with a huge improvement from Armstrong, he's been terrific on special teams and in recruiting. What a friggin hire he was!

If it is indeed Foreman, like it appears TOS is reporting, do we still take Ball?  Brookins is supposedly a S prospect for us.  If that holds true then Foreman would give us our 3rd S prospect.  Maybe we still take the Juco, but I can't imagine taking Ball unless they think he has a chance to compete at the WR or Lb positions.

I thought the same thing. Ball definitely looks like a LB to me, especially considering the size of his brother.

We need LB depth and Ball would look good there. He should be able to add 25 lbs in 2 years and play OLB.

Yup. Sounds like UW's academic reputation was the kicker in this decision.

I'm still a little skeptical as to whether or not DJ Singleton will actually arrive on campus. I think we take Ball if we can.

Isn't Foreman from CA with an offer from UCLA? That's quite a fine institution of higher learning, as well.

Ball could play SS, but I still as him as a WLB all the way.
A strange situation,
A wild occupation,
Living my life,
Like a song....

Im not turning any talented secondary prospects. Its been the toughest position for us to recruit for a while and this would go along way towards beating that perception.

Could be that he narrowed it down to Oklahoma and UW based on football, and chose UW because of the edge in academics.

Can someone ask TOS to update their verbal list so we can stop speculating?  tongue

True, but UCLA is not a fine institution of higher football.

He would fit the profile but I'm 95% positive its Foreman which to me is more important. Someone alluded to Foreman's coach tipping them off so it seems to be him for sure.

Foreman would be huge since Marcus Ball is more of a LB prospect and seems to be 50/50 at best.

It is Foreman.  He will officially announce on Saturday.

Quite frankly, Foreman sounds like a LB to be as well.

RE: New Verbal??

Huge recruiting weekend coming with the OSU game. The staff should be able to get Ball to commit this weekend or he risks losing out. Cam Walker is also deciding soon after his visit so hopefully they can get a silent verbal from him. Boyd is also visiting and I'm not sure what he's being recruited as. What was once thought to be a small class could be the best in years.

I don't think so at all.  Have you watched him?  He's a stud safety in the making and very good in space.  http://www.hudl.com/athlete/68...lights/18099376
