What type of crowd to expect in Houston..............

Well Houston is 4 hours from Baton Rouge and full of LSU Alumns. Here is a shot of Jerry World in Dallas during pre-game. Houston will be similar to this. We are looking forward to seeing y'all there.

Yes. Just a little Garth Brooks tune. Here's another version.

Well hell, after seeing that why even lace them up? We have no chance with Garth playing their intro.

Millerville, we're used to very big stages. We play in the Big Ten. We play in News Year's Day bowls. If Houston is like Dallas, it looks like it will be a good atmosphere if that's your point. Now about that return date when your Tiger have to play in Lambeau... no bigger stage in the game.

Cue victorybucky claiming that Badger fans won't go to the game now because the band isn't going.

Seriously?

The band isn't going to the LSU game?

A game of this magnitude?

WTF

Lame if true. Of course it was lame to not see the band out at ASU last year either.

Must be scared to be shown up all game long by the LSU Band- they play almost after every play.

I guarantee they will bring their band to Lambeau.

I sent an email to the account provided on their website (badgerbandinfo@music.wisc.edu) asking if the band was going.  This was the reply I got:

We are not going to be going because we do not have the funding to go. L

Thanks for asking though!

I suppose it's expensive for the band to travel.

I'm going to the game with my in-laws and wanted them to see a real marching band.

It seems our football program works its butt off to become one of the big time schools. But then it turns right around and shoots itself in the foot.

Other bands seem to travel all over the country. OSU at California, USC at ND. You bet the LSU band will be here. And with a lot more folks- twirlers, flag wavers. And they will play and play while ours sits on its collective hands.

No visiting band at CR since 1992. Can't get the students in the stadium on time- it has to be done row by row. Tarps over unusable seats for years and years, instead of something attractive.

Sorry, but we don't have the feel of an elite program with a huge fan base.

Talk about a giant "who gives a sh*?"

These were the top 5 NC games from last year. Going only from memory, because you should remember this if bands are such a huge deal, tell me which teams brought their bands.

1. Georgia at Clemson (Aug. 31)

2. Oklahoma at Notre Dame (Sept. 28)

3. UCLA at Nebraska (Sept. 14)

4. Clemson at South Carolina (Nov. 30)

5. Notre Dame at Stanford (Nov. 30)

Re: What type of crowd to expect in Houston..............

Maybe the band booster club can pony up a bunch of cash to stick them on a bus down there.

If nothing else, this makes another 450 tickets available.

I was thinking the posters in this thread who got all lathered up about it could help write the check.

How dare you disrespect the 'twirlers and flag wavers.'

I can't even type that with a straight face.
