Re: Jay Boulware

Sorry to see Bart Miller go but this guys resume is much more impressive. I love the fact that we have two assistants who are experienced special teams coaches. Hopefully the special teams no longer are a festering issue for the program.

This is why you don't give the job to Bart Miller.

Saw this on our board. He was a coach that many wanted to have on the new staff at Auburn. Our special teams were great under his watch. Solid hire.

Has Utah ties, and apparently is known for his tireless work habits. Has recruiting ties to Texas and Florida.

Nice get...we stole one from the SEC.  Looks like his recruiting area is Texas.

Called this one and Aaron Roderick =]

Terrific hires by GA!  Excellent recruiters to go with the great staff he's already assembled!

Re: Jay Boulware

I think Boulware and Hammock overlapped a year or two as player/coach at Northern Illinois.  So there should be previous work experience between GA, Ludwig, Hammock, Boulware and potentially Aaron Roderick on the offensive side of the ball.

Re: Jay Boulware

Boulware is credited with recruiting Michael Turner to Northern Illinois, so he may have actually been in on recruiting Thomas Hammock, too.  It'll be interesting to hear all the connections and stories as each new staff member is connected to at least one other staff member.

Confirmed by TGP.

Love his comments and how articulate he is (must be pretty smart to the be a econ grad from UofTexas).  His focus on the kid as a whole, his ability to speak well, and being smart has to have been and will be a winning combination with parents in recruiting.  The comments from a couple of Auburn people on this site are also pretty encouraging.  Nice hire.

Coach Alveraz and Coach Andersen have been and continue to be pretty impressive to date.  Signing date: Feb 6, one month, let's hold serve and perhaps add a surprise!

$250K less, but for how long.  Will UW start paying asst's more?  If UW can keep a great staff together for 5 years, look out!   If it takes a few more $$, so be it.  Do it!

I wonder, how much is it worth to be in Madison, than, say, Minny, or E. Lansing.  I had jobs in places that I would have stayed for $$$ less, but it did not work out for other reasons.

Re: Jay Boulware

Boulware's salary was bumped to $255,000 after Auburn won the National Title, fwiw.  So, he's in the Ben Herbert tax bracket.

I think he was kidding about pay. Bouleware was let go, along with the entire Auburn staff when Chizik was fired. JB made about $250k at Auburn.

Auburn's new coach did not retain Jay Boulware... We hired Rich Bisaccia from the San Diego Chargers.  However,  Boulware was our best coach last season in my opinion.  Out of all of them he deserved to be retained..

Yes it was a joke in ref to UW/SEC assistant coaching pay difference.  Plus my post count was at 666, call me supersticious but i was NOT leaving work like that.

Absolute HUGE hire! Love the addition of Boulware! Absolute slam dunk TE hire.

Roderick would be solid as well...no real recruiting connections out east....but solid coach.

RE: Jay Boulware

Boulware recruits Florida and Texas.  Who from the staff is going to recruit Ohio, PA, Michigan, or Illinois (granted anyone should be able to recruit Northern Illinois).  Is Hammock going to recruit NJ, PA, OH, MI, and IL?

GA definitely hires more like BA than BB.  BA often hired someone he was previously connected with.  BB as he always said "love the interview process", would hire someone he wasn't previously connected with.

What a damn good hire, one of my buddies graduated from Auburn and raved about this guy, said the Badgers got a steal. Looks like GA put together 1 hell of a staff

Bo Ryan's offense is officially dead and has been figured out by the B1G. The only way he can continue to coach it is if he significantly upgrades the players.-George2k5

Guess I'll be the first to say it. Thank you for visiting, Tigers, and especially for the words of encouragement.

We haven't had good experiences with your SEC brethren of late, which might explain the previous lack of acknowledgement.

Make dem piggies squeal, please.
