Sad to see him go as he was one of my favorite Badgers in recent years. Best of luck to him. I do believe he will be missed on the O-line next year.

Apparently that first round grade was given before the Rose Bowl.

Thinking along the same lines.  4th position coach in 13 months may have been an underlying factor.

Good move.  Not much left to prove at this level and only so much more a big body can take.  Might as well get paid for it.

Sounds like the prospects of Bart Miller not being retained may be a factor, though you can't blame the guy.  He has done everything he can in a Badger uniform.  Good luck at the next level, sir!

This doesn't bother me nearly as much as Konz leaving last year.  We will be solid on the OL regardless.

My guess is that the selection of a TE coach probably weighs very little in a Center's decision of whether to give up his last year of college eligibility.

T. Fred as I affectionately call him, will be just fine. Strong as a moose and as smart as a molecular engineer. I think he plays for many more years.

Did he wright any programs to grade out himself and simulate his draft position?

my guess is you know very little about the dynamics of the OL-TE coach relationship. You do remember Joe Rudolph was going to replace Bostad before he left for Pitt right?

His letter to BadgerNation only singled out two people by name, fwiw: Gary Andersen and Bart Miller.

By far the two best players on the line are leaving after 3 of the best players left the previous year.

A TE coach is pretty much just another OLine coach. That's why you see so many ex TEs as OLine coaches and even more ex OLinemen as TE coaches. Its generally a newer coach to the coaching ranks. They ASSIST the OLine coach.

I think you're mistaken in this case. TF and the other guys loved Miller.

Frederick will be missed next year, but next man in,
I really do not see him as a high draft choice, 4th or 5th round more likely, but he will get an opportunity and I think he will play well in the NFL.

So why is it that we didn't hear any complaints about the radical changes Eddie Faulkner was implementing to the OL schemes that were causing so many problems earlier in the season?  Could it be that the TE coach doesn't have anything to do with how the OL coach decides to do things?  And could it be that, with Miller at TE coach or not, Woods will be deciding how he wants to do things and Frederick would have to live with them either way?  So what does the presence of Miller have to do with Frederick's major life decision?  Just how attached could he be to Miller?  If he left because Miller wasn't retained it would imply that he is more attached to Miller than his teammates, which I would find that incredibly odd.
