OL Depth Chart

OL Depth Chart

How does our O-line look like for the 2013 season? We can assume our C is back and also assume a departure for the NFL.

How the line looks like with our C going to the NFL....

LT: Tyler Marz (R-SO)? Who is second string?
LG: Ryan Groy (R-SR), Dallas Lewallen (R-JR), Ray Ball (R-SO)
C: Dan Voltz (R-FR))
RG: Kyle Costigan (R-JR), Zac Matthias (R-SR)
RT: Rob Havenstein (R-JR), Jonathon Coon (R-FR)

How the line looks like with our C returning.....

LT: Tyler Marz (R-SO)? Who is second string?
LG: Ryan Groy (R-SR), Dallas Lewallen (R-JR), Ray Ball (R-SO)
C: Travis Federick (R-SR), Dan Voltz (SO)
RG: Kyle Costigan (R-JR), Zac Matthias (R-SR)
RT: Rob Havenstein (R-JR), Jonathon Coon (R-FR)

Where do the following guys likely fit in: Walker Williams, Jake Meador

RE: OL Depth Chart

I thought McNamera was leaving.

I'd give Walker Williams the chance at LT.

I also wouldn't be suprised to see Groy as LT

RE: OL Depth Chart

With a new coaching staff with no preconceived notions of the talent, who knows where these guys will end up?  Havenstein could lose his starting spot in favor or Lewallen.  Frederick could go back to OG with Voltz starting at Center.  Groy could play LT.

I suspect that if there is a theme and with the USU OL coach coming over, there will be a preference for agility over raw size despite the mandatory press conference statement of favoring a power running game, and all of the above changes are in play.

I wasn't sure if was going to be given the redshirt tag or played a few downs. The roster doesn't have the redshirt by the freshman names yet.

Voltz is redshirting.  Of course it's not official until after the Rose Bowl but he has not participated in any games yet.  http://www.uwbadgers.com/sport...g.html#IGBG.PLY

Reggie Love, Reggie Mitchell and Alex Erickson have had their redshirts burned for little value, unfortunately.  Biegel will/should be getting a medical redshirt because of his injury.

In practice he worked at OG primarily.  Pretty sure he was second team for at least part of this season and played on the FG/XP unit as the year went on.

McNamara is gone. For someone as "well connected" as you you should have known that. Walker Williams will def be in the 2deep.

RE: OL Depth Chart

I was checking out Potrykus pic of the line earlier.  Lewallen on the far right just has a huge frame.  The coaches spoke highly of him prior to the injury.  I really hope he can get his knee healthy and hopefully contribute in the future.

We haven't really seen much of Marz or the other projected LTs.  Groy was switched to Wagner's spot when he had the MCL surgery.  I think plugging Marz into the LT spot is not a given.

He shows a general lack of knowledge of information that came out before a few weeks ago.  I find it hard to believe that someone as "connected" with the Badger program as he has claimed to be doesn't know anything pre-coaching change.

I've been assuming that he's just a troll trying to pass as a Badger fan by reading articles and using member content from recruiting sites and claiming this as "inside sources."  His posts tend to be in the Debbie Downer category with great regularity.

RE: OL Depth Chart

Sure there's a chance but I was very unpleasantly surprised with RH this season.  Was expecting a lot more, especially after BB called him "the surprise of camp".  Maybe he didn't mean that in a good way.  I thought both his balance and agility were poor, which doesn't bode well for a flip to LT.

Erickson has done a nice job on STs throughout the year so I'm not sure you can say he burned his redshirt for little value

Considering you are one of the fools who feel for the whole Petersen smokescreen ordeal, and you are not even close to having any recruiting aspects even close to being accurate, it might be best for the folks like you to sit in the stands and leave us that actually know things discuss the topics.

The guy I had listed in the depth chart was still listed on the UWBadgers.com roster and depth chart on here as of 10/18. If that hurts your feelings, buy some tissues.

The official participation list from UWBadgers.com said he only played in two games.  If that's wrong then I'm wrong.  But I doubt it's wrong.  Are you thinking of Lance Baretz by chance?

Why do continue to switch screen names? For this clown to say he is "connected" in any way shape or form to Wisconsin football is laughable. He is a very sick weird and creepy individual. Isnt that right saturdayfootball, allaboutrecruiting, entreprenuer, etc etc etc... Cue the next screen name.

Good god look at Costigan. That's how a punishing offensive linemen should look.

Frederick looks downright small in that picture.

Compare shots of Thomas in college and these players look far less impressive.

Rumor mentioned by Dave Heller and Tony Pauline is that Freddy is leaning toward going pro.  Wouldn't surprise me.  Voltz will do well at OC.

Would be interesting to see how many snaps Voltz has at the QB's ankles. confused

I agree with that.
There are some players that need to contribute early to be engaged in the game.  If they're physically ready but not mentally ready, giving them play time will accelerate the learning process.  It's both a motivational technique as well as a way to save their redshirts for possible injuries.

Again let me remind you Jeet Kune Do is just a name used, a boat to get one across, and once across it is to be discarded and not to be carried on one's back - Bruce Lee.
