Sorry to say it, but I'm really not very impressed with Williams. I think he's just throwing stuff out there & adding nothing more than message board type insight (at best).

He said that he "heard" we are going after them.  So it's not speculating, it's whatever sources Brandon Williams has.  Obviously he's got ties to UW and works for the BTN so I think it should be taken with a little more than a grain of salt. Who really knows though, because I thought Canada was out of the picture yesterday.

I'd like to know what the buyout is for Andersen.  We have the 1M buyout from Bret to play with.

It did sound like Coach A will get candidates for the OC job and then decide.  That to me puts no one at the top of the list, including Canada or even Hammock.

Brandon Williams was pretty good. The fact that he said they need to get out there and get a good strength guy shows that he gets it and the fact that he left the others speechless made me chuckle.

I also would advise we wait and see where the dust settles on the Canada situation.

Some of that is going to Barry for RB.

There are probably no fewer than 12 university lawyers who could punch a big, fat hole in that contract.

I haven't see the contract, but I would assume it has an effective date of something after the Rose Bowl.  If that is the case, then there is a pretty good rationale for it never coming into effect.

I would expect BA and GA to go after both Partridge AND Canada. No guarantee of landing both, but DD and BB really PO'd Barry.

If Partridge is indeed currently contacting potential UW recruits on behalf of Arkansas as has been mentioned in the recruiting thread, I think it's probably safe to say that bridges have been burned.  Let's face it, these guys are salesmen and salesmen tell you what you want to hear....I love Wisconsin...the past 5 years at Wisconsin were the best years of my life...yada, yada, yada.  I'd be surprised if these guys are brought back at this point.

nc state probably has no fewer than 12 university lawyers helping create a contract which prevents your university lawyers from big fat hole punching....haha....and nc state probably pays their lawyers better....jk

clearly there is the 13th amendment though if canada really wanted out : )...but he and wisconsin are clearly gonna have to donate some flesh to get there...

I think Wisconsin will splash a bit of cash on the coordinators. Not saying it will be tO$U type cash because there is little to no need to do so. I agree with Williams that Canada's buyout might not be the disincentive that some are saying. I am of mixed feelings about Canada: like the mix of spread and pro background and he is very creative as we saw later in the season. On the other hand, the failures at QB recruiting were frustrating. Do not be surprised, though, if Wisconsin pays a new OC very well, in the top 3 of the conference as DiNardo rightly speculates.

Rumors are that James Coley, the OC and Recruiting Coordinator at FSU is looking to leave Tallahassee, perhaps as a HC. While his background is all in the State of Florida with a brief g.a. stint at LSU, might he make a great complement as OC at Wisconsin? Another up and comer not unlike Andersen.

Things have changed. Both left before BA even interviewed GA, no?

That is only if Canada has actually signed his contract. If he hasn't, he can come back right now if he wanted.

i can assure you ...there wouldve been no press release from nc state university regarding the hiring of canada without a signed contract...that's not as issue....the issue is buyout $$...if your new coach even wants canada...or if canada wants to be in a warmer place w a good buddy...

Since, apparently there are NO ethics anymore in Div 1 football, I think the descriptor "unethical" cannot actually be be applied.

If hes taking UW checks and recruiting for Arkansas already he can go. Hes certainly not the only assistant coach out there with Florida connections.

How about landing Canada, Partridge, and ........Collins? would anyone be willing to take them back?

My question with Canada is, did he take that long to get it in regards to usages of Gordon, Stave, etc., and did he have an overall lack of imagination for a while, or was he under the directive from BB to hide wrinkles for the one game we really needed to win at the end of the season? That uncertainty is why I don't care whether he stays or goes, based on what I know. Rudolph learned under Chryst and can recruit. I think he'd arguably be a better option to run the offense if he could be lured back over.

As far as Partridge goes, our D-Line has played sub-par football under him, and we already have a defensive strategist in Gary, so I'd almost prefer to go another direction there. All he'd be bringing to the table is recruiting. Just have Anderson and Kauahahaha handle Partridge's duties.

We've had a bunch of ACL's explode on Herbert's watch. So I don't know if it is really important. Training can make you less susceptible to injury, over-training more so. Intensity is a double-edged sword.
